Abstract: Upon rendering a raster operation when processing page data in page description language, logical operations in raster operations (ROPS) are replaced with arithmetic operations. All raster operations can be expressed as one or more logical operations between the source, destination and texture. The minimum value of A and B is substituted for A AND B. The maximum value of A and B is substituted for A OR B. The arithmetic operation of 2N?1?A is substitutes for NOT A, N is the device independent pixel bit depth. The arithmetic operation A?B is substitutes for A XOR B. These substitutions preserve the intended meaning of the raster operation upon screening to the device pixel bit depth.
