Abstract: An orthotic apparatus and method that is operable to provide foot mapping of a user and provide guidance to an orthotic insert that mateably fits the user's foot. The present invention includes a kiosk wherein the kiosk includes an upright housing and a base member operably coupled thereto. The base member has a foot plate member thereon configured to have a user superpose their feet onto the upper surface thereof. The method of the present invention includes a plurality of steps that require the user to manipulate the position of their feet and further place increased pressure on various parts thereof. During manipulation of the feet the multitude of sensors embedded within the foot plate member provide surface data mapping of the bottom of the user's foot. The data mapping obtains a plurality of alternate measurements of three regions of the user's foot to provide guidance on a proper orthotic.

Abstract: A footwear and method of manufacture wherein the present invention includes capture and acquisition of a three-dimensional volumetric scan of feet of a user wherein the scan data is employed to manufacture a customized midsole for a sandal. The present invention includes a midsole that has an upper surface and a bottom surface wherein the upper surface is formed to mateably accommodate the hindfoot, midfoot and forefoot of the wearer. The midsole is manufactured from a cork-rubber blend in a preferred embodiment and includes a opposing side to which a strap member is secured thereto. The strap member has at least one strap segment configured to extend over the top of the wearer's foot. An outsole is secured to the bottom surface of the midsole. The outsole is manufactured from a closed cell polymer foam.

Abstract: An apparatus, system and method provide management of distribution channels and coverage channels in a communication system having a wireless backhaul. Based on coverage channel information and distribution channel information provided by an OMC, a base station distinguishes between a physical distribution channel between the base station and a distribution station and a physical coverage channel between the distribution station and a mobile station. The base station forms a downstream distribution signal including coverage channel information. The downstream distribution signal is transmitted at the distribution channel associated with the coverage channel identified by the coverage channel information.
