  • Publication number: 20240037489
Abstract: Systems and techniques may be used for real time monitoring of content of a package. An example technique may include receiving sensor data sent from a first wireless telecommunications transmitter of a sensor device inside a package in transit, located together with content in the package, identifying whether the sensor data indicates that the content in the package was subjected to a condition outside of a specified range and receiving a status request for the package sent from a second wireless telecommunications transmitter of a mobile device based on a scanned machine-readable code on or affixed via a label to an outside face of the package. In response to receiving the status request, the technique may include sending an indication for display on the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 6082283
Abstract: Mooring apparatus and method of use thereof, for marine vessels, comprising a subsea anchor (12) such as a suction pile (14A), and including a swivel (16) to which at least one mooring line (24) is connected, the other end of the mooring line being adapted for connection to the bow mooring apparatus of a marine vessel (22) such as a conventional tanker. The mooring line (24) includes a load cell for measuring tension applied to the line by reverse thrust of the vessel. Signals from the load cell are transmitted from the bow of the vessel to the bridge (40), enabling manual, automatic or semi-automatic control of the applied tension. In use, the mooring line is maintained under tension such that the vessel may weathervane around the swivel.

  • Patent number: 4866362
Abstract: The invention relates to a target tracking system comprising two identical stationary and mutually distant sub-systems (5, 6), each sub-system including a laser source (7, 8) and two perpendicularly pivotable mirrors (10, 11), such that a laser beam can be directed by each sub-system towards the moving target (4). Each sub-system further includes a lateral effect photodetector (18) receiving the light beam after its reflection on the target, which is a reflecting target (4) of the cat's eye type. The pivot positions of the mirrors (10, 11) are adjustable in accordance with control signals derived from the detector (18) such that the respective beam tends to approach the center of the target (4) and that it is reflected in itself. Each mirror is pivoted by a brushless DC motor (12, 13). The common pivot shaft of the motor and of the mirror is further coupled to a digital angle encoder (16, 17) which delivers signals to calculator means (27, 29) for evaluating the present 3D coordinates of the target.
