Abstract: A compound motion soil blocker that uses mechanical advantage to reduce the force required to manually produce soil blocks. The blocker includes a primary structural frame, a control frame, an ejection arm set and a handle arm set. The soil blocker includes a toggle mechanism set coupling together the handle arm set and the ejection arm set to create a mechanical advantage such that the application of a minimal amount of manual pressure on the handle arm generates substantially more pressure on the ejection arm. The ejection arm is pinned to a compression structure including one or more plungers that are arranged to compress soil in a grid into soil blocks.

Abstract: A plunger device for making soil blocks. The plunger device is used to form soil blocks in a grid to facilitate seedling growth. The plunger is made of a configuration and material by casting or molding to compress soil consistently and evenly into blocks for seeding. The plunger device includes a plurality of plungers joined together that align with the rows of cells within the grid. The benefit of cast or molded plungers of the present invention is their uniform shape that will not bend of deform as prior sheet metal plungers potentially can.

Abstract: A receptacle for a seed, seedling, or plant may include an opaque frame within which one or more cells is placed. Each cell has a sidewall that is transparent below the soil surface to enable growers to observe soil moisture level and progression of root growth. The opaque frame prevents light from entering the transparent sidewall of each cell, which would otherwise retard growth of seed, seedling, or plant. An optional tray handle allows growers to lift the cell(s) from the container or watering tray when checking soil moisture level and root growth.

Abstract: A pool cue includes a butt that has a butt sleeve and a groove. A shaft extends from the butt and includes a tip. A grip is positioned within the groove. The grip is formed of a generally soft, elastomeric material. The grip is positioned in the groove such that a smooth continuous surface is defined with an outer surface of the butt. The grip is constructed of a material that is elastic enough to roll or slide over the butt sleeve and into the groove during assembly.
