    Abstract: The invention provides stabilized, biocompatible palladium nanoparticles that are stabilized with material from epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG). The invention also provides electrochemical cells that include EGCG stabilized nanoparticles, and an electrolyte. In preferred embodiments, EGCG palladium nanoparticles are in D2O or H2O, and preferred electrolytes are adjusted for conductivity with LiOD and LiOH. The invention also provides for deposition of EGCG palladium nanoparticles. A method of electrolysis of the invention includes applying current to a cell including EGCG palladium nanoparticles. An energy conversion system applies current to cell of the invention and collects heat energy. A net energy gain is measured in experimental energy conversion systems.

    Abstract: A heat dissipation system that includes a structure having a surface with a cavity recessed on the surface. A wing or channel causes a vortex to occur in the cavity. Destabilizers, such as projections or recesses are disposed on the sidewall of the cavity to disrupt the local surface boundary layer that forms in the cavity. Alternatively, a plurality of freely moving bead elements are disposed in the cavity to disrupt the local surface boundary layer. A cover can be included that prevents the bead elements from exiting the cavity.

    Abstract: An apparatus as provided for measuring acceleration of a person's head or other object. The apparatus comprises a sensor for sensing acceleration and a controller for controlling recording of data resulting from the sensed acceleration due to an explosive force. The controller is adapted to determine whether or not to enable recording of the data based on the sensed acceleration. A data receiver is provided to receive the sensed acceleration data from the sensing means, and requires electrical power to enable data to be received thereby. The controller controls electrical power to the receiver so that if the sensed acceleration reaches or exceeds a predetermined value, electrical power to the data receiver is enabled. The recorded acceleration data may be used for injury analysis.
