  • Patent number: 5219196
Abstract: A strike mechanism for a door lock comprising a recessed strike plate (9) which in use is fitted into a door jamb to receive a latch bolt (14) and a strike (10) which is pivotal between a first position in which the bolt (14) is held within the recess and the door is locked shut and a second position in which the bolt (14) is released so the door may be opened. The strike (10) is lockable in the first position by pins (19, 20, 21) which are remotely operable by a solenoid (26) to extend or retract across adjoining surfaces of the strike (10) and plate (9) and prevent relative movement therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4969343
Abstract: A lock mechanism for an emergency exit door or the like is constructed with a tongue pivotable between two positions--an extended position and a retracted position, the former for use when the door is closed and locked, and the latter when the door is open--and a pawl arranged for releasably retaining the tongue in either or both of the two positions, the tongue being releasable from the pawl by depressing a breakable seal or by a cylinder key. The mechanism has the advantage of being readily releasable from the inside yet capable of being sealed against unauthorized use.

  • Patent number: 4682799
Abstract: A latch lock comprising a latch bolt adapted for movement between a latching and a retracted position, a first part including a boss adapted to be rotated by a door handle, and a second part adapted to move the latch bolt between these positions. A clutch is provided for transmitting rotation of the first part by the door handle to the second part to move the latch bolt to the retracted position when engaged and for freely rotating the first part by the door handle when disengaged. The clutch comprises a lever pivotally connected to the second part and the lever is provided with a spur which can be engaged by pivotal movement of the lever with a recess in the boss of the first part. The lever is biased toward engagement of the spur and recess and is operated to disengage the first and second parts by a locking device. In the locked configuration, the locking device can also operate to prevent movement of the latch bolt by abutment with the second part.

  • Patent number: 4490624
Abstract: A fail safe mechanism for power operated doors comprises an auxiliary power supply, an electric motor, a self operating clutch to connect the motor to the door's normal drive assembly and a relay/timer circuit to energize the motor in the event of a mains failure to enable the motor to drive the door open.

  • Patent number: 4338066
Abstract: A grease gun is fed from a constant supply under pressure. The gun has a hand-pumped lever for delivering shots of grease either at high pressure and low volume or low pressure and high volume depending on a changeover valve. Air bleeds from the gun through the nozzle by a single pump of the lever. The lever causes a pushrod to open a one way valve allowing grease to travel entirely through the gun to the nozzle. In another version the pushrod is replaced by a cone valve. Both versions are for single handed operation.
