Patent number: 8308479Abstract: Preconditioning mouth rinse, which pre-treats the teeth to better receive a whitening formula containing a photosensitive compound, and a hand-held consumer light source for tooth whitening, which provides rapid tooth whitening, are disclosed. The light source may use a specific range of visible light and also emit heat sufficient to raise the temperature of the teeth a desired amount at a depth up to about 2 mm in the range of about from 1-5° Celsius over a predetermined period of time. The specified wavelengths of the hand-held consumer operable light will activate the photosensitive substance in the whitening formula. The oxidizing compounds may be transparent to light enabling light energy to activate the oxidizing compounds directly on the tooth surface, or to activate a photosensitizing or photosensitive compound added to produce the desired temperature increase.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2009Date of Patent: November 13, 2012Assignee: Dentovations Inc.Inventors: Graham K. Publication number: 20110281240Abstract: Tooth whitening compound includes a whitener and a carrier selected for adhering the carrier and whitening composition to a user's teeth. The whitening compound may be applied by the method including painting, washing, sponging, coating, daubing, spraying, wiping, rubbing, and by any movement relative to a horizontal or vertical axis of the user's tooth. The whitening compound may be sufficiently viscous to adhere to a user's teeth, in use, without a mechanical retaining device. The whitening compound may be a semi-solid or a solid compound at ambient temperatures.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 15, 2011Publication date: November 17, 2011Applicant: Dentovations Inc.Inventors: DAMON J. BROWN, GRAHAM K. PHILP, JR., GRAHAM K. PARRISH-PHILP, ADAM DIASTI

Publication number: 20090325129Abstract: Tooth whitening system includes a moldable dental tray of sufficiently moldable material so that a user can form the tray to substantially match the configuration of the user's teeth, in use. Moldable dental tray includes a raised region and a valley that are adjacent to and free of contact with a corresponding raised region and valley of a user's tooth adjacent a user's gum line. Thus, a tooth provided on the moldable dental tray is free of contact with the user's gingiva, in use. Tooth whitener includes a carrier, a whitening agent, and a sufficiently adhesive so that both the tooth whitener and the moldable dental tray are adhered to a user's tooth for a sufficiently long period of time to achieve a whitening of the user's tooth by the whitening agent. Tooth whitener and tray can be made of organic, natural materials.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 13, 2009Publication date: December 31, 2009Inventors: Damon J. Brown, Graham K. Philp, JR., Graham K. Publication number: 20020064753Abstract: Dispenser is disclosed. Method of dispensing dental material includes the provision of a dental tool, a dental tray, which may be a dental impression tray, as well as a bite tray. The bite tray may be provided with strands extending between first and second sides of the tray. In use, a material may be provided on the strands to cover the strands at least in part. The strands may be selected and located relative to each other so that, in use, when a user's teeth exert force on or contact one or more of the strands the respective strands move relative to each other, and move without exerting sufficient force on the first side of the dental tray so as to cause the first side of the dental tray to move relative to the second side of the dental tray.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 3, 2001Publication date: May 30, 2002Inventor: Graham K.
