Abstract: Method rapidly whitens teeth by using whitening compound containing an oxidizing agent, such as carbamide peroxide, hydrogen peroxide, sodium chlorite, and/or chlorine dioxide. Sonic device emits sonic waves directly to the tooth, transfers the sonic waves through a medium which may be a mist, an encapsulated liquid, a solid, a sponge, or any combination. Device may have a heat source which has controlled temperature of 1°-3° F. to increase the temperature of the tooth whitening compound. Sonic device sonic energy emission to whitening compound applied to teeth, and temperature increase, increases the kinetics, and speeds up the tooth whitening process. A pH adjusting agent included in the whitening compound or directly applied to the teeth may be a pre-treatment rinse, or be via a coating in an encapsulated bag, or within a moistened sponge-like material for releasing onto teeth when the sponge material is pressed against teeth.

Abstract: Tooth whitening compound includes a whitener and a carrier selected for adhering the carrier and whitening composition to a user's teeth. The whitening compound may be applied by the method including painting, washing, sponging, coating, daubing, spraying, wiping, rubbing, and by any movement relative to a horizontal or vertical axis of the user's tooth. The whitening compound may be sufficiently viscous to adhere to a user's teeth, in use, without a mechanical retaining device. The whitening compound may be a semi-solid or a solid compound at ambient temperatures.

Abstract: Tooth whitening composition includes an oxidizing compound and phase transfer catalyst. The phase transfer catalyst may be administrated in the same or in a different composition. The phase transfer catalyst may be incorporated into the tooth whitening composition itself, or it may be included in a composition formulated to contact the enamel surface of a patient prior to the treatment of a treated tooth surface with the oxidizing compound, or both.

Abstract: Method of tooth whitening includes the use of a tooth whitening composition incorporated in a dissolvable strip or mouth tray. This strip or mouth tray may be made of different compositions, one example being a hydrogel including acemannan, such as an Acemannan Hydrogel™ from Carrington Industries. The strip or mouth tray may incorporate an oxidizing agent, which is encapsulated within a water-soluble substance, which dissolves over time, thus providing a time-release effect. The rate of time release of the whitener may be varied depending on the intended use.
