  • Patent number: 9857014
Abstract: A restraint or gripping device for anchoring within the interior of a pipe comprises a pair of end plates adapted to be urged towards each other and a plurality of shoes, positioned between the end plates, and adapted to be moved radially outwardly as the end plates are urged together. In a further aspect, a method of restraining a pipe plug or isolation tool is provided. Also provided are assemblies for pipe isolation including an integral restraint or gripping mechanism.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 29, 2015

  • Patent number: 9644448
Abstract: The isolation tool works at depth in the bore of a pipe whose upper end is to be severed and replaced. The tool isolates the lower pipe bore from the upper bore so that flammable downhole fluid is prevented from reaching a welding site along the pipe wall. The tool incorporates: means for establishing a pair of axially spaced apart annular seals engaging the pipe inner surface; means for venting downhole fluid to ground surface; and means for monitoring for seal leakage. The tool is primarily mechanical in nature. It finds use in connection with off-shore platform riser renewal operations.

  • Publication number: 20090200797
Abstract: A fitting for fixedly attaching to pipes and the like includes an inner and outer ring being coaxially provided over a pipe. The inner and outer rings are preferably connected by means of a ratchet mechanism allowing for one way advancement there-between. Advancement of the outer ring over the inner ring radially compresses the latter thereby resulting in swaging of the pipe. The radial compression of the pipe results in the fitting being locked in place and prevents axial movement between the fitting and the pipe. Various apparatus are provided for advancing the outer ring over the inner ring. Coupling assemblies are provided utilizing the fittings for forming joints between abutting pipes.

  • Patent number: 5512266
Abstract: Aluminosilicates in the form of P type zeolites are used as detergency builders and have a silicon to aluminium ratio not greater than 1.33, preferably above 0.9. These zeolites will usually have a calcium binding capacity of at least 150 mg CaO per gram of anhydrous aluminosilicate. A preferred form of the zeolite P has a silicon to aluminium ratio up to 1.15, and preferably above 0.9, with a tetragonally distorted cubic crystal structure. A process of the preparation of these zeolite P builders is described.

  • Patent number: 4970064
Abstract: The invention relates to an oral composition for the care of the mouth to inhibit oral bacteria and to neutralize acids, produced by oral bacteria. This achieved by inclusion in the oral composition of a hydrotalcite-like material of a particular general formula, typical representatives being zinc aluminum hydrotalcite (Zn.sub.12 Al.sub.6 (OH).sub.36 (NO.sub.3).sub.6 H.sub.2 O) and copper magnesium aluminum hydrotalcite (Cu.sub.3 Mg.sub.9 Al.sub.4 (OH).sub.32 Cl.sub.4 H.sub.2 O).These hydrotalcite-like materials show significant anti-plaque activity. Typical examples of oral compositions are toothpastes and mouth rinses.
