  • Publication number: 20240078674
Abstract: Taking a digital implant or abutment level digital impression by means of intra-oral, computed tomography or other imaging method provides the restorative doctor and laboratory accurate and effective data for determining the implant position, angulation and locking feature orientation without a physical impression. Such data is correlated with a digital library to produce an output which enables design and fabrication of an accurate restorative device such as a prosthetic tooth or crown. In this way the time-consuming, costly and error prone mechanical replication of the relevant dental anatomy is obviated.

  • Publication number: 20130244206
Abstract: A patient-specific system for restoring missing dentition may include surgical components including a dental implant drilling guide adapted to the patient's dental anatomy, dental implant, drills required to place said implant, and drilling depth and sequence instructions specific to the patient. Further, the system includes a patient-specific healing abutment to form a customized emergence profile, an impression coping with the same emergence profile, a provisional abutment with the same emergence profile, a final abutment with the same emergence profile, a provisional crown or bridge, and a final crown or bridge. The crown or bridge may be screw or cement retained.

  • Publication number: 20130236855
Abstract: A premade ceramic dental implant abutment includes a ceramic abutment having at the top a support region intended for receiving a mating prosthetic build-up construction with a surface feature to inhibit rotation of said construction, and at the bottom, an implant contact region with geometry to connect to the implant. The ceramic abutment has a passageway extending therethrough. The passageway may narrow to form a shoulder that is made entirely of ceramic. A head of a screw seats entirely on the shoulder. The ceramic abutment has a supragingival region for protruding beyond the gingiva and a subgingival end for extending into the gingiva. The ceramic abutment may be free of metal. Also, the premade ceramic abutment may be designed to be augmented by cementing additional ceramic material such as a ceramic prosthesis onto the ceramic abutment.

  • Patent number: 6955258
Abstract: Disclosed is a device and method for use in the dental implant industry. Generally, the device relates to packaging systems for dental implants that are capable of storing implants of different lengths and varying diameters. An embodiment of the package may be composed of a vial for housing a cushion. Located on the cushion is a sleeve for housing at least a portion of a dental implant. The sleeve and implant are covered by a sleeve cap whereby the sleeve cap is constructed to hold a healing screw. The packaging system also includes a lid for covering the healing screw.

Inventors: Charles W. Howlett, Grant Bullis, Angel Bernardo
  • Patent number: 6913465
Abstract: An assembly for securing a dental implant assembly within a package. The assembly comprises a collet that includes at least one lever arm, which defines at least in part, an angular surface and an opening for receiving the dental implant assembly. The assembly also includes a vial that defines a cavity in which the collet is positioned and a complementary angular surface that is configured such that, when the complementary angular surface moves with respect to the collet, the complementary angular surface pushes on the angular surface so as to reduce the diameter of the opening.
