    Abstract: Brown sugar and similar ingredients are packaged for consumers in individual, pre-measured portions. The portions can be loosely packed, but correspond to a volume of firmly packed ingredient commonly used for cooking. Alternatively, the ingredient can be provided in a firmly packed form, in a pre-measured portion, or a pre-measured portion that is easily divisible into smaller portions that correspond to commonly-used cooking measures.
