  • Publication number: 20210086277
Abstract: A method for the joining of ceramic pieces with a hermetically sealed joint comprising brazing a layer of joining material between the two pieces. The ceramic pieces may be aluminum nitride or other ceramics, and the pieces may be brazed with a high purity silicon or a silicon alloy under controlled atmosphere. The joint material is adapted to later withstand both the environments within a process chamber during substrate processing, and the oxygenated atmosphere which may be seen within the interior of a heater or electrostatic chuck.

  • Patent number: 10338874
Abstract: A modular, digital LED display system is disclosed. The display system includes a modular framing system and a plurality of interchangeable display modules removably mounted in the modular framing system. Each of the display modules includes a number of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) or LED assemblies, each of which serves as an individual pixel or element of the larger digital display system. Each of the display modules also includes a number of locating or index sensors. These locating or index sensors allow each display module to determine at least whether there is another module immediately adjacent. A controller connected to the plurality of display modules receives data from the display modules, including the data from the locating or index sensors, and determines automatically the configuration of the display and the locations of the individual display modules.

  • Publication number: 20170246492
Abstract: Running in a mammal, such as a human, is augmented by adaptively modulating anticipation of maximum leg extension of a mammal when running, and actuating an exoskeletal clutch linked in series to at least one elastic element, wherein the clutch and elastic element form an exoskeleton and are attached in parallel to at least one muscle-tendon unit of a leg of the mammal and span at least one joint of the mammal fitted with the exoskeleton. The exoskeletal clutch is actuated in advance of a predicted maximum extension of the exoskeletal clutch to thereby cause the exoskeletal clutch to lock essentially simultaneously with ground strike by the leg of the mammal. The elastic element is thereby engaged during stance phase of the gait of the mammal while running, and subsequently is disengaged prior to or during the swing phase of the gait of the mammal, thereby augmenting running of the mammal.

  • Patent number: 7412994
Abstract: This application relates to a fuel dispensing system and method for safely regulating transfer of fuel between a fuel dispenser and a fuel recipient. The fuel dispensing system may be used, for example, to replenish electric vehicles that use refillable electrochemical power generation systems, such as fuel cell hybrid systems using hydrogen fuel. The system employs a combination of interlocks and other safety features specifically adapted for high-risk indoor environments. Fueling cannot commence until the dispenser and the recipient are electrically bonded to minimize the risk of spark generation. The system may include, for example, a fuel supply subsystem for preventing fuel flow except during a fueling session, an immobilization subsystem for preventing relative movement of the dispenser and the recipient during a fueling session, a communication subsystem for enabling data exchange between the dispenser and the recipient, and a leak detection subsystem for monitoring the fueling site for fuel leaks.
