  • Patent number: 4767062
Abstract: An air fertilizer spreader mounted on a truck chassis, the truck chassis carrying a granular or pulverized fertilizer application machine. Right and left booms swing from a midship position between a truck cab and fertilizer box back towards the rear of the truck chassis. Each boom includes a plurality of boom tubes with deflectors. Rear boom tubes are also provided at the rear of the truck chassis. A screw conveyor carries fertilizer from the fertilizer transport box to an area forward of the fertilizer transport box where the fertilizer falls into opposing metering assemblies for the right and left boom. Air, acting through particle accelerators carries the fertilizer from the metering assembly to the entrance of the boom tubes, and a second particle accelerator provides additional air flow to carry the fertilizer down the length of each of the boom tubes to the point of discharge.

  • Patent number: 4598830
Abstract: A self-levelling boom arrangement for supporting upon a frame of an agricultural material distribution device includes a pair of boom arms extending outwardly from a central support beam. The boom arms are pivotally mounted on a single horizontal pin on the beam for raising and lowering in a vertical plane. The beam is pivotally mounted at a lower end so that the pin can move side to side in the vertical plane. Hydraulic rams are connected to the arms at positions spaced outwardly of the central pin for raising and lowering the arms relative to the frame. Thus, the arms can be raised and lowered independently while the central beam provides a self-levelling effect.

  • Patent number: 4401688
Abstract: The method for imparting permanent press characteristics to textile articles without using textile resins and textile resin catalysts includes applying to the textile article, a urethane acrylate prepolymer or an epoxy acrylate prepolymer or an acrylated polyester prepolymer or a water soluble monomer having a molecular weight less than 300 and selected from the group comprising acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, esters and substituted esters of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid and amides of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid, or prepolymers of such monomers, curing the prepolymer or monomer in situ on the textile article using ultraviolet radiation, and pressing the textile article along a crease after the application of the prepolymer or monomer. The pressing step may be applied either before or after the curing of the prepolymer or monomer.
