  • Publication number: 20220308841
Abstract: A facility for creating custom software to analyze resource data is configured to assist domain experts in the creation of custom software. The facility obtains user input indicating one or more global inputs and one or more global outputs. The facility obtains user input creating one or more nodes, each having one or more inputs and one or more outputs, and each configured to evaluate resource data based on the inputs to produce the outputs. The facility obtains user input mapping between outputs and inputs of nodes to establish a network among the nodes. The facility evaluates each node in accordance with the established network based on the global inputs and global outputs. The facility displays the nodes and the network among the nodes.

  • Patent number: 9672073
Abstract: Distributing work in a distributed computing environment that includes multiple nodes. An individual node can receive a work assignment, which can then be divided into a plurality of work units. A first work unit can then be distributed to a first worker node. At least a portion of the first work unit can be re-distributed to a second worker node in response to determining that the first worker node has experienced a failure condition with respect to the first work unit.

  • Patent number: 5440071
Abstract: The Chord Board is a revolutionary musical instrument that simplifies and expands on the traditional piano-style keyboard interface through the use of computer technology. Musicians skilled or unskilled alike will be able to take advantage of this new musical interface which makes the playing of an unlimited variety of chords and their respective note patterns not only possible, but easy. Yet the design of the Chord Board allows for an extremely complex performance from a musician who has the ability and skill to make such a performance. The Chord Board is designed to maximize the potential for the introduction of the human element into the musical performance. The player interface of the Chord Board departs significantly from the traditional piano. There are eight banks of eight keys each, three for the left hand, and five for the right hand. These keys are similar in size and shape to the traditional piano-style key, yet there are no black keys in between the white keys.

  • Patent number: 5279242
Abstract: A remote control tiller arm is provided for controlling the operation of an outboard motor. An inverted U-shaped steering boom is attached to the outboard motor and extends over-the motor boat operator. The steering boom includes a throttle mechanism for remotely controlling the speed of the outboard motor. By using the steering boom, the motor board operator can steer the boat from a forward looking position.

  • Patent number: 4522592
Abstract: A hand-held valve structure for use with an oral evacuator system of the type which includes a vacuum source/waste disposal unit connected to the valve structure through a flexible vacuum hose. The valve structure includes an elongated body member having a central bore which is coupled to the vacuum hose. The upstream end of the body member includes a valve seat which surrounds the central bore. A poppet or valve piece, which is positioned adjacent the valve seat, is secured to the one end of a connecting rod, the rod being slidably-mounted on the body member. A detachable cover having a central bore is secured over the valve seat of the body member. The cover is provided with a slot which provides access to the connecting rod. A thumb latch is provided which is connected to the connecting rod through the cover member slot. A cam spring is positioned around the body member and engages the thumb latch so as to latch the poppet in either an open or a closed position.

  • Patent number: 4126912
Abstract: A unitary self-contained kit of components is readily attachable to a sliding door without modification of the door to effect gravity actuated closing. The kit includes a guide channel and pulley that are simply adhesively secured to an outwardly facing surface portion of the door at the rear of the door. A weight is slidably confined within the guide and hangs from a line entrained over the pulley and connected to a hook on the doorway lintel. Included in the kit is a universal wheel and bracket assembly that can be readily mounted on many different types of doors.

  • Patent number: 4081176
Abstract: A specific embodiment provides a valve structure for an evacuator system adapted to be connected to a source of negative pressure. The valve structure includes an elongated housing having a longitudinal bore extending through the housing, and a valve seat formed by a reduced diameter portion of the bore. A valve member is situated in the bore for abutting engagement with the valve seat to prevent passage of flowable materials therebetween. Biasing means is provided for urging the valve member into abutting engagement with the valve seat. A manually operable member is operatively associated with the biasing means for moving the valve member out of engagement with the valve seat to permit passage of flowable materials therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4017975
Abstract: A saliva ejector is formed with a flattened body having an internal suction passage extending along the bottom and continuous to the top of the body. Suction apertures are provided in both the bottom and the top so that suction relief is provided at the top of the ejector, even though lower apertures are blocked by soft tissue. The body of the ejector is made of two mating plates that are snapped together and clamp over the end of a vacuum tube to be connected to the ejector. The extent of the flattened body above its bottom portion permits it to act as a tongue guard, separating the tongue from the teeth, and facilitates location of the vacuum relief ports. A chin holder, having an integral side opening clamp is readily clamped on the vacuum tube to securely position the ejector within the oral cavity.

  • Patent number: 4015336

The valve structure includes an elongated housing having a longitudinal bore extending through the housing, a valve seat formed by a reduced diameter portion of the bore, and a slot extending through the housing to the bore and longitudinally of the housing. A valve member is situated in the bore for abutting engagement with the valve seat to prevent passage of flowable materials therebetween. A spring is provided for biasing the valve member into abutting engagement with the valve seat, and the spring includes an offset portion extending outwardly through the slot. A manually operable member is connected to the offset spring portion for moving the offset spring portion to compress the spring and thereby move the valve member out of engagement with the valve seat to permit passage of flowable materials therebetween.
