  • Publication number: 20250146406
Abstract: A plug delivery and pressure test tool are for delivering a plug to a wellbore or tubular and pressure testing the plug in a single trip. The tool has an uphole end and a downhole end; a sealing element; a pressure adjustment means; and a plug attachment means. The plug attachment means is configured to carry a selectively expandable plug to a desired location and selectively release the plug. The sealing element is configured to seal against an internal surface of the wellbore or tubular, thereby creating an isolated volume between the sealing element and the plug. The pressure adjustment means is configured to decrease the pressure in the isolated volume by moving fluid from the isolated volume to an upper fluid volume above the sealing element to create an underbalance in the isolated volume, thereby negatively pressure testing the plug in use.

  • Patent number: 11155748
Abstract: An effective amount of amphiphilic star polymers and surfactants may be applied to downhole fluids containing oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsions, such as drilling fluids, completion fluids, drill-in fluids, workover fluids, and remediation fluids, to stabilize the emulsions and improve rheological properties of these fluids for use in oil and gas production operations. The star polymers and surfactants may be applied to the downhole fluid separately or as a blend to generate emulsions within the fluid that have substantially uniform droplet size.

  • Publication number: 20200158619
Abstract: In a fracture pressure transmission test apparatus utilizing fracture simulating slotted discs, the apparatus can assess the effectiveness of a lost circulation material (LCM) in a test fluid, allow for the assessment of the ability of the LCM to reduce pressure transmission to a tip of a fracture to prevent fracture propagation, and allow for the simulation of flow back to assess the ease of clean-up for reservoir applications.

  • Publication number: 20190265150
Abstract: A permeability plugging apparatus disk including a body, and a slot through the body, the slot being non-straight. Also disclosed is method for producing a particulate plugging apparatus disk including estimating a feature to be replicated for particle plugging testing, depositing layer by layer of a material according to a program in an additive manufacturing tool, leaving selective voids in the layer by layer construction to form the disk having a non-straight slot in a body and a permeability plugging apparatus disk including a body defining a pulser screen.
