  • Patent number: 12078725
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to detecting jams when an intensity of a reflected signal exceeds a predetermined intensity threshold and an intensity window metric based on historic intensity value(s) fails to exceed an intensity window threshold for more than a predetermined time threshold. In an illustrative example, a jam detection unit (JDU) may emit a signal and detect a reflection of the signal. The JDU may, for example, compare intensity of the reflected signal to the intensity threshold. The JDU, for example, may compare the intensity threshold with at least one historic intensity value to determine the intensity window metric. If the intensity value exceeds the intensity threshold and the intensity window metric has not exceeded the intensity window threshold for longer than the time threshold, then the JDU may, for example, generate a jam signal. Various embodiments may advantageously detect jams based on intensity of a reflected signal.

  • Publication number: 20210109065
Abstract: A well tool for use within a borehole with borehole fluid. The well tool may include a body, an acoustic velocity transducer, a reflector plate, and a processor. The body may include a fluid conduit extending between a flow inlet and a flow outlet. The flow inlet and the flow outlet may be positioned on an exterior of the body to allow the borehole fluid to pass through the fluid conduit. The acoustic velocity sensor may be positioned within the fluid conduit and configured to generate and receive an acoustic pulse. The reflector plate may be positioned within the fluid conduit such that the pulse is reflected off of the reflector plate back to the acoustic velocity transducer. The processor may be programmed to determine an acoustic velocity of the borehole fluid based on a return time of the pulse reflected back from the reflector plate.

  • Patent number: 10395328
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a virtual professionals community for conducting virtual consultations with suggested professionals includes receiving, in a server, data associated with a plurality of professionals, including a specialty descriptive of one or more of the plurality of professionals. The server can receive a peer performance rating for one of the plurality of professionals generated by a second of the plurality of professionals. A client can submit, to the server, a search request that includes user-defined search criteria. The server can then search the received data based on the search criteria to select relevant professionals associated with the client's search request. The server can rank the selected relevant professionals based on peer performance ratings and the relevancy of the relevant professional to the search criteria. After ranking the selected professionals, the server can transmit a report of the relevant professionals ordered in the ranking determined by the server.

  • Patent number: 9990608
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a virtual professionals community for conducting virtual consultations with suggested professionals includes receiving, at an electronic device, a request for data associated with a professional. A list of professionals can be transmitted to a client in response to the request. The client can select one of the professionals from the list of professionals. At a scheduled time for a virtual consultation, an appointment interface can be established between the client and professional. Prior to the virtual consultation, including immediately before the virtual consultation, a notification can be transmitted to the professional. The notification can include access to the appointment interface, and a selectable option corresponding to a professional insurance coverage for the virtual appointment. The professional insurance coverage can be based at least in part on the request and can have a coverage period corresponding to a duration of the virtual consultation.

  • Publication number: 20070078465
Abstract: A device for inserting a non-balloon gastrostomic device through an opening in the wall of the abdomen and stomach or other viscera of a patient is provided. The insertion device comprises a body, a stylus, and a trigger device being adapted to selectively maintain a selected position of the stylus relative to the body without the use of an external force. A method of inserting the gastrostomic device utilizing the insertion tool is also provided. In addition or alternatively, a gastrostomic device is provided including a hollow tube member and an enlarged resiliently deformable tip at one end of the tube member. The deformable tip is deformable between a first configuration and a second configuration, each configuration having a cross-sectional area. In addition or alternatively, a method is provided for forming the gastrostomic device using a disposable core.
