  • Publication number: 20180051694
Abstract: An electro-mechanical controller is provided for adjusting the pump-stroke in a variety of variable-rate positive displacement piston pumps. The electro-mechanical controller can be attached to work with existing pumps or, in some embodiments, can be integrated into the pump. Using a linear actuator coupled to a pair of nested gears, the actuation of the linear actuator can be transferred into a rotating motion capable of rotating the pump setting adjustment, allowing for “on-the-go” adjustment of the pump-stroke in the variable-rate positive displacement piston pump. The electro-mechanical controllers can be particularly useful in agricultural settings to adjust the amount of fertilizer applied to the soil in response to a variety of inputs such as the GPS or map data, or a signal from a sensor indicating the amount of nitrogen in the soil or plant.

  • Patent number: 9713382
Abstract: A chair has a frame with legs, a seat hoop carried by the legs, and a backrest extending above the seat hoop. A seat is carried by the seat hoop of the frame, and has a seat base with a cushion. A perimeter lip circumscribes the seat base and rests over the seat hoop. The seat base has a flexible and resilient corrugated interior capable of deflecting under weight and returning when the weight is removed. An annular bottom projection projects from the seat base between the perimeter lip and the corrugated interior and into the seat hoop, and has an annular bottom surface substantially flush with the lower surface of the seat hoop.

  • Patent number: 8550012
Abstract: A folding table has a leg pivotally coupled to a bottom of a tabletop. A pair of links is pivotally coupled together and pivotally coupled in series between the tabletop and the leg. The pair of links, the tabletop and the leg form a four-bar, four-pivot linkage, including four pivots and four bars defined between the pivots. The bars of the linkage are sized and the pivots of the linkage are located to resist movement of the linkage through an intermediate binding configuration between open and closed configurations.

  • Patent number: 6661819
Abstract: A fiber Bragg grating is used to stabilize the intensity and frequency fluctuations of a diode laser. The diode laser is connected with an opto-mechanical apparatus to the fiber which contains the grating. The grating is formed in the guided-mode region of the optical fiber. The wavelength of maximum grating reflectivity is selected to lie near the maximum of the diode laser gain bandwidth. The magnitude and bandwidth of the grating reflectivity stabilizes the diode laser output without appreciably reducing the optical output power from the end of the fiber. The bandwidth of the optical spectrum of the diode laser is selected depending on the distance of the grating from the diode laser.

  • Patent number: 5659559
Abstract: A fibre Bragg grating is used to stabilize the intensity and frequency fluctuations of a diode laser. The diode laser is connected with an opto-mechanical apparatus to the fibre which contains the grating. A polarization maintaining fibre is used. The grating is formed in the guided-mode region of the optical fibre using photorefractive techniques. The wavelength of maximum grating reflectivity is selected to lie near the maximum of the diode laser gain bandwidth. The magnitude and bandwidth of the grating reflectivity is sufficient to stabilize the diode laser output without appreciably reducing the optical output power from the end of the fibre. The bandwidth of the optical spectrum of the diode laser is increased or decreased relative to the solitary diode laser operating characteristics depending on the distance of the grating from the diode laser.
