Publication number: 20040123529Abstract: A self-contained mobile stage system for outdoor performances that is transportable with a light tow vehicle, and with features for easy deployment by one person alone. The mobile stage trailer includes a chassis having a pair of decks, including an upper deck and a lower deck vertically spaced apart from the upper deck. A retractable hitch assembly is coupled with the chassis for coupling the trailer with the tow vehicle. A wing deck is coupled with the chassis at each lateral edge. The wing decks are selectively positionable in a first favored position proximate the upper deck of the chassis portion so that the upper deck and the wing decks together present an upwardly directed surface for performances. The wing decks are further selectively positionable in a second favored position for towing wherein the system presents a system width dimension generally equal to the width of the chassis alone.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 7, 2003Publication date: July 1, 2004Inventors: Steven E. Wiese, Grant S. Quam

Patent number: 6725968Abstract: An acoustic door assembly generally comprises a door, a frame and a hinge. The door of the assembly is an insulated, acoustic door having a predetermined length. The frame of the assembly is positioned proximate the door and is joined thereto by the hinge. The hinge is a continuous, cam hinge having a length that is substantially equivalent to the predetermined length of the door and is secured along the length of the door.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2002Date of Patent: April 27, 2004Assignee: Wenger CorporationInventors: Grant S. Patent number: 6106186Abstract: A modular portable stage and floor system uses a small number of standardized modular components to construct a temporary or permanent platform that is easily adaptable to a wide variety of platform designs. The modular standardized components include a series of modular vertical and horizontal supports and a light-weight modular deck panel. The modular vertical and horizontal supports can be detachably coupled together in a slidably interlocked manner using a universal connector mechanism in to a support frame structure for supporting a plurality of modular deck panels. By using a small number of modular supports and a universal connector mechanism that is similar for all structural interconnections required to build the support frame structure, the modular portable stage and floor system is strong and stable, yet easily transported, assembled and disassembled.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1998Date of Patent: August 22, 2000Assignee: Wenger CorporationInventors: Dale L. Taipale, Michael D. Jines, Grant S. Quam

Patent number: 6006680Abstract: A portable stage platform includes a platform assembly having a mass and being shiftable between a stowed configuration and a performance configuration. The platform assembly has a platform that presents an upwardly directed performance surface when in the performance configuration and an opposed underside. The underside has a plurality of collapsible legs operably coupled thereto. The collapsible legs are shiftable between a collapsed configuration in which the collapsible legs are substantially flush with the underside and an extended configuration in which the collapsible legs are substantially transverse to the underside. The portable stage platform includes a platform base assembly that is shiftable between a stowed configuration and a performance configuration.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 1997Date of Patent: December 28, 1999Assignee: Wenger CorporationInventors: Grant S. Patent number: 5769560Abstract: A clamp assembly for detachably joining two adjacent portable stage modules. The clamp assembly is attached to the underside of one of the modules. When not in use, a spring biases the clamp away from the attachment bracket. The clamp includes two resilient, outwardly curving wing elements. Each wing element has a pair of opposing locking slots or engaging surfaces. A variable distance from a midpoint of a line segment between the two forward locking slots to the rear locking slots is the operational criterion for detachably joining two stage modules. When the wing elements are inwardly biased toward each other, thereby assuming a tension position, the distance between the midpoint and the rear locking slots is greater than when the wing elements are in a relaxed position.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 1996Date of Patent: June 23, 1998Assignee: Wenger CorporationInventor: Grant S. Patent number: 4596440Abstract: An easy to manufacture, yet durable electrical probe contact is provided which is especially designed for connecting test equipment leads and patch cords to a variety of probe tips. The contact hereof includes a stamped and formed coupling portion that electrically and mechanically couples a wire lead to a screw machined or cold pressed probe tip. The manufacturing advantages inherent in stamped and formed contacts are thereby combined with the durability of screw machined and cold pressed tips. Moreover, the coupling portion is especially designed to receive a variety of tips, including the desirable banana plug type tip.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 1984Date of Patent: June 24, 1986Assignee: E.
