Patent number: 11752973Abstract: A system for monitoring an interior of a vehicle, comprising an identification device adapted to be carried by an individual, a vehicular unit adapted for mounting within the vehicle, and a controller adapted for remote wireless communication with the unit. The unit will activate a camera and a microphone when a person is detected within the vehicle. The unit will search for the identification device and, if the identification device is not detected, the unit will activate an alarm. If the identification device is detected, the unit will compare an access code from the identification device with authorized access codes. If the access code is not found within the authorized access codes, the unit will activate an alarm. The controller is operable to display images, broadcast sounds, and display the alarm status from the unit in real time to a user in possession of the controller.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 2022Date of Patent: September 12, 2023Assignee: CRIDER BUSH, LLCInventors: Grant W. Patent number: 10927598Abstract: A dual curtain closure system for covering a portal wherein each curtain has a length greater than the length of the lateral margins of the portal, a first end fixedly attached across the portal at an upper end thereof, and a second end folded back on itself to define an upwardly opening pocket. An elongated rod is supported within each pocket. A first spindle winds and unwinds the first curtain and a second spindle winds and unwinds the second curtain. A drive motor is operable to simultaneously rotate the first and second spindles such that the upwardly opening pockets of the curtains are concomitantly raised or lowered. A predetermined distance between the rods is maintained as the pockets are raised or lowered, which facilitates sealing of the curtains to the lateral margins of the portal as the curtains are lowered.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2017Date of Patent: February 23, 2021Assignee: HH Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Grant W. Patent number: 7828037Abstract: An apparatus for opening and closing a portal in a structure in which a curtain having elongated side portions is placed adjacent opposing sides of the portal. A first end of the curtain is attached to a first end of the portal. An opposite end of the curtain is upturned and attached to a varying means at the first end of the portal to vary the height of a pocket formed in the curtain. Magnetic sealing means are placed on the elongated side portions of the curtain and on the opposing sides of the portal. The portal is closed as the varying means lowers the height of the pocket, wherein the magnetic sealing means on the curtain engage the magnetic sealing means on the opposing sides of the portal, thereby sealing the portal. The portal is opened as the varying means raises the height of the pocket, wherein the magnetic sealing means on the curtain disengage the magnetic sealing means on the opposing sides of the portal, thereby unsealing the portal.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2007Date of Patent: November 9, 2010Inventor: Grant W. Patent number: 6138739Abstract: An improved roll-up closure utilizing a flexible cover selected from a material suitable to effect the type of closure sought. The cover is at least as wide as the portal to be covered and is typically longer than the portal. Each lateral margin of the cover has a strip of hook or loop fastener material affixed thereto, with the complementary strip affixed to either the respective lateral margin defining the portal or to a "floating" edge of an elongated strip of flexible material attached at its opposite edge to the respective lateral margin. A first end of the cover is rigidly affixed across a first margin of the portal. The opposite end of the cover can be upturned about a transverse rod and connected to a take-up roller mounted adjacent the first margin of the portal, or it can be attached to the rod such that as the cover is raised or lowered, the cover is wound or unwound around the rod. Channel members prevent movement of the rod in a direction normal to the plane of the portal.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 1999Date of Patent: October 31, 2000Assignee: Grant W.
