    Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a composite cathode of a solid state lithium ion battery. Method include coating lithium iron phosphate particles by obtaining carbon coated LFP particles, mixing the carbon coated LFP particles with an alkoxide precursor solution to form a mixture, hydrolyzing the mixture to form hydrolyzed carbon coated LFP particles, and heating the hydrolyzed carbon coated LFP particles to from an amorphous buffer coating on the carbon coated LFP particles.
