Abstract: A photovoltaic energy panel has first and second electrically conductive regions on first and second sides of an electrically insulating sheet. Each of at least some pairs of the first electrically conductive regions are connected electrically by a photovoltaic cell between the two members of the pair. The panel also includes vias, each of which electrically connects one of the first electrically conductive regions to one of the second electrically conductive regions. There are first and electrical contacts, at first and second edges of the sheet, each of which is directly or indirectly connected to one of the electrically conductive regions. The electrically conductive regions, the cells and the vias are arranged to provide an electrically conductive path between one of the first contact and one, two or more of the second contacts.
