  • Patent number: 9011966
Abstract: A polyurethane foam article comprises a first lift, a second lift, and a pass-line therebetween. The polyurethane foam article comprises the reaction product of an isocyanate-reactive resin composition, an isocyanate, and an indicator dye in the presence of a blowing agent. The indicator dye imparts a color in the first and second lifts and at the pass-line at a first temperature below a decomposition temperature of the indicator dye. The indicator dye chemically decomposes to impart a change in color in the first and second lifts and at the pass-line at a second temperature which is at or above the decomposition temperature of the indicator dye.

  • Publication number: 20130059934
Abstract: A polyurethane foam and a resin composition that may be used to form the polyurethane foam are provided. The resin composition includes a first polyol based upon ethylene diamine and having about 100% ethylene oxide capping and present in an amount of from about 0.3 to about 15 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the resin composition, a second polyol, and a physical blowing agent having at least 4 carbon atoms. The polyurethane foam includes the reaction product of an isocyanate component and the resin composition comprising the first and second polyol, in the presence of the physical blowing agent. A method of forming the polyurethane foam on a substrate combines the isocyanate component and the resin composition to form a reaction mixture. The reaction mixture is applied onto the substrate to form the polyurethane foam.

  • Publication number: 20080199706
Abstract: A resin composition is reacted with a polyisocyanate composition to form a polyurethane elastomeric adhesive. The polyurethane elastomeric adhesive adheres a first substrate to a second substrate to form a composite article. The resin composition comprises a first isocyanate-reactive component, a catalyst component, and a chelating agent. The first isocyanate-reactive component comprises an internal block copolymer formed from an initiator and an alkylene oxide and comprises terminal isocyanate-reactive groups. The chelating agent comprises a branched polymeric amine having a weight-average molecular weight of from about 800 to about 200,000 and is present in an amount of from about 1 to about 10 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the resin composition.
