  • Patent number: 4835536
Abstract: A weather radar turbulence detector using a magnetron for transmission and having pulse pair processing. The invention is a high-power, low cost turbulence detector incorporating ground clutter rejection and sea clutter rejection. Autocorrelation among echoes, to note their amplitude variations, which are detected video, rather than RF, from a simple and low-cost receiver, from pulse to pulse of the transmitter, is accomplished by the pulse pair processing.
