  • Publication number: 20230313572
Abstract: The locking bar is magnetically attached to a container having a door which swings to a closed position to prevent access to the container. The locking bar includes a base and a blocking part extending from the base. The blocking part is located to prevent movement of the door from the closed position when the container is situated on the base. The weight of the container on the base prevents the locking bar from being removed from the container. Protrusions extending from the top of the base and from the bottom of the base further secure the locking bar from removal. A second blocking part may extend in a direction opposite the first locking bar for securing doors on stacked containers.

  • Publication number: 20220055598
Abstract: The trailer emergency air brake supply line coupler is movable between a control position, where air pressure in the supply line causes the trailer emergency air brakes to release so the trailer can be moved, and a park position where the trailer emergency air brake system is vented to automatically engage the trailer emergency air brakes. The lock includes a metal frame attached to the trailer proximate the trailer coupler. First and second spaced side walls extend from the rear wall of the frame on opposite sides of the trailer coupler. A retractable pin extends between the side walls and intersects the path of movement of the supply line coupler preventing movement of the supply line coupler between its control position and its park position. A lock cylinder, padlock or other mechanism retains the pin on the frame.

  • Patent number: 11151849
Abstract: The protector includes a box-like metal enclosure formed of first and second parts connected for movement between an open position, wherein a seal associated with the vehicle cargo compartment door handle is accessible, and a closed position, in which the seal is surrounded and cannot be accessed. A light-actuated GPS tracking device associated with the enclosure transmits an alarm signal to a remote server when light is detected due to opening of the enclosure parts. The alarm signal includes information as to the time and location of the vehicle when the enclosure was opened.

  • Publication number: 20210245822
Abstract: A trailer lock can be used as an anti-theft device to secure a mating feature of a trailer, such as a king pin, against unauthorized hookups by tractors. The trailer lock can include a base plate for mounting on a wall of a trailer; one or more swing arms, which swing arms are pivotally connected to the base plate; and an engagement tube pivotally connected to the swing arms, which engagement tube defines an engagement feature integrally formed therein, such as a hollow recess, which engagement feature is capable of fitting to a mating feature of the trailer, such as a king pin. When the engagement feature is fitted to the mating feature of the trailer (for example, when an engagement tube with a hollow recess is positioned such that the king pin is within the hollow recess), it can prevent the mating feature from engaging a corresponding mating feature of a tractor, such as a fifth wheel.

  • Patent number: 10519696
Abstract: The assembly includes a padlock having a lock body and a ā€œUā€ shaped shackle. A protective shield is attached to one section of the shackle and is rotatable between a covered and uncovered positions relative to the padlock. In the unlocked position of the lock body, the shield may be moved to its uncovered position in which the lock body and the shackle are exposed. In its covered position, the shield protects the portion of the lock body and the shackle. In that position, the lock body can be moved to its locked position in which it cooperates with the shield to prevent the shield from being moved to its uncovered position. The assembly is mounted to a cargo access door over the latch handle such that the shield protects the padlock and the latch handle.

  • Publication number: 20190150967
Abstract: A device for obtaining a tissue sample includes a spring sheath, an outer sheath, a base, a pair of jaws, and an actuator assembly. The outer sheath has a wall extending along a longitudinal axis. The base is connected to at least one of the spring sheath and the outer sheath. The pair of jaws is operatively connected to the base such that the pair of jaws can be moved between an open position and a closed position. Each jaw has a proximal portion and a distal portion. The actuator assembly includes a driver that extends through the base and engages the pair of jaws to move the pair of jaws between the open and closed positions. When the pair of jaws are in a fully opened position, the proximal portion of each jaw does not extend beyond the longitudinal axis of the wall of the outer sheath.

  • Patent number: 10246910
Abstract: The access door to the cargo compartment has a latch handle with an opening. The handle is moveable between a closed position, wherein the handle opening is aligned with an opening in a part attached to the door, and an open position, wherein the handle opening is out of alignment with the opening in the attached part. A cable is provided having an end anchored to the cargo door and a free end adapted to extend through the aligned openings, when handle is in its closed position. A magnetic rocker member is spring-loaded toward a magnetically actuated switch and causes a friction wheel to securely retain the free end of the cable. The switch causes the number on a digital counter to change in response to the depression of the button, allowing removal of the cable end. The changed number indicates that the compartment may have been accessed during transit.

  • Patent number: 10186096
Abstract: The latch for the cargo door is moveable between an engaged position wherein the door cannot be opened and a disengaged position wherein the cargo door can be opened to access the compartment. A counter displays a number which can be changed in response to an actuation signal. A series of spaced magnets moveable with the latch create a magnetic field which is elongated along the surface of the latch for a given distance. A magnetically actuated reed switch is situated proximate the path of movement of the latch surface, such that the switch remains under the influence of the magnetic field during movement of the latch from its engaged position toward its disengaged position within the given distance and thereafter changes state to generate an actuation signal to the counter.

  • Patent number: 10181233
Abstract: The system includes a digital counter adapted to display a number which is changed in response to an actuation signal. A lock assembly mounted to the cargo door is connected to the counter. The lock assembly has a hollow housing within which a member having a recess adapted to receive the handle is moveable by the handle between an unlocked position, wherein the door may be opened, and a locked position, in which the door is prevented from being opened. A magnetically actuated switch is mounted within the housing. The switch is adapted to generate an actuation signal to the digital counter in response to movement of the member within the housing from its locked position. The signal causes the counter to change the displayed number, indicating that the door may have been opened in transit.

  • Patent number: 10065601
Abstract: The components of the alarm system are fully enclosed within a portable housing and require no external power or data signal connections. A mobile transmitter generates a proximity signal indicating a given range from the vehicle. An audible alarm signal and a GPS location signal are generated in response to the output of one or more sensors indicating a particular occurrence, if a transmitter is outside of the given range, indicating that the driver has left the vehicle unattended and vulnerable to attack. When the vehicle is driven by an authorized driver having the transmitter, the received proximity signal indicates that the driver is within the given range, preventing the generation of the audible alarm resulting from sensors being triggered by shifting cargo in the cargo compartment resulting from vehicle movement and irregular road surface conditions during transit.

  • Publication number: 20180217120
Abstract: The delivery of fuel oil through a fuel oil delivery pipe is monitored to measure the flow rate, temperature, viscosity, density and dielectric constant of the fuel oil as it moves through the delivery pipe. The digital data signals from the sensors which are a function of the measured parameters are recorded in a memory. An IR sensor detects the presence of air in the pipe and prevents the data signals from being recorded. The actual total quantity of fuel oil delivered through the pipe is calculated based upon the recorded data signals, which may be adjusted to take into account the temperature of the fuel oil being delivered. A clock circuit generates a timing signal reflecting the date and time the measurements were taken. Information as to the quantity delivered and the time of delivery may be sent to a remote location.
