  • Publication number: 20240148328
Abstract: An intervertebral implant includes a body adapted to be implanted into an intervertebral space of a patient, the body defining a fusion aperture, and at least one cartridge with each cartridge disposed in the body and at least partially extending into the fusion aperture. Each cartridge includes an impedance sensor configured to measure electrical resistance, a radio frequency (RF) transmit antenna configured to transmit a RF signal, and circuitry for recording data from the impedance sensor and transmit the recorded data to an external clinician computing device through the RF transmit antenna. Such collection and use of data can be used to provide improved orthopedic outcomes.

  • Patent number: 11403158
Abstract: Discrete logic safety systems for smart process control devices are disclosed. A discrete logic safety system includes a heartbeat monitor to be operatively coupled to a processor of the process control device to monitor a first condition of the processor, a sensor monitor to be operatively coupled to a sensor of the process control device to monitor a second condition of the sensor, and first discrete logic operatively couple to the heartbeat monitor and the sensor monitor to generate a failure indication associated with the process control device based on the first condition or the second condition.

  • Patent number: 6256586
Abstract: This system utilizes satellite observations of sea level variations, and relates them to wind stress through the use of an algorithm that generates a relationship between long time period climatologies of both sea level and wind stress. A linear transfer function is utilized in the algorithm. The algorithm provides a solution to the problem of generating the response function to an under-sampled process and allows wind stress distant in space and lagged time to affect the sea level variations at all points. The resulting statistical model allows direct prediction of wind driven setup or setdown at the climatological observation points given a prediction of only the wind stress field. Minimizing the expected error variance generates the optimal estimation of the time invariant linear transfer function. This leads to an extended empirical orthogonal function (EEOF). The sea surface height (SSH) response to each wind mode is determined.

  • Patent number: 5054474
Abstract: A water massage apparatus is provided for use in a spa which is provided with at least one inlet port through which is flowed an aerated jet of water under pressure. The conventionally provided casing or annular locking ring used to couple a conventional water jet device, is replaced with a hollow bushing which couples an aspirating adapter to a recessed receptacle in the interior wall of the spa. The adapter is connected to a head by a flexible plastic hose, the head being provided with apertures through which aerated water is flowed. The head is provided with a pendant finger which provides a valve means for selectively placing the apertures in the head in open flow communication with the jet of water exiting the receptacle in the spa's wall.
