    Abstract: A system and method is provided for generating a preview display of a captured print image from a non-planar platen and for generating a high resolution display of a user-selected area of the preview display. The display processing system comprises a preview generation module and optionally a high resolution display processing module. After a group of captured radial scan line images is received, the preview generation module determines the representative pixel values for pixels in the group. The polar coordinate system position of the respective group is then converted to a position in the display window coordinates. The representative pixel values are plotted at the corresponding display window coordinates. The operator can request a high resolution display of an area of the preview display. When a request is received, the captured image data within that area is converted to rectangular system coordinates and displayed.

The controller adaptively controls the camera and the illumination source by adjusting one or more of contrast, gain, and integration time for the camera, and illumination for the illumination source.

    Abstract: Systems and methods perform access control and mobile identity verification utilizing a memory, maybe on a handheld device, that stores at least biometric data, such as minutia. The handheld device may also store other data, such as a threshold value and Wiegand data. The data may be stored in a memory, a magnetic strip, a code, a bar code, or in all of these devices associated with the handheld device. The handheld device may be a SmartCard or the like. The threshold value may be a required value or parameter generated from input criteria based on biometric data read and extracted by an extracting system during an enrolling process. The threshold value is used during extracting, matching, or both, to most accurately determine the identity and characteristics of an individual wanting access to an accessed system or being questioned by law enforcement in the field.

    Abstract: A system and methods controls access to an accessed system utilizing a two-factor requirement for admittance. One factor may be biometric data read and extracted from an individual wishing to gain access to the accessed system. The other factor may be an electronic key signal received at an input device of the access control system that is converted to an input signal. In some instances, the input signal is used to access correlating biometric data in a memory. Then, the extracted live biometric data and the stored biometric data are compared to generate a matching result signal. The matching results signal is transmitted to a Wiegand access control panel to control access to the accessed system. In other instances, the extracted live biometric data is compared to biometric data stored in a memory corresponding to a plurality of individual's biometric data that are allowed access to the accessed system.

    Abstract: A system and method is provided for converting biometric image data captured in a first coordinate system into biometric image data in a second coordinate system (e.g., from polar to rectangular). The system includes a receiving module for receiving raw image data captured in a first coordinate system, a coordinate conversion module, and a memory. The conversion system can be implemented in a biometric imaging system or in a system external to a biometric imaging system. After raw image data captured in a first coordinate system has been received, for each pixel in a defined output area, the coordinate conversion module retrieves an entry in a conversion data array and one or more samples from the captured raw image data. The coordinate conversion module then interpolates the retrieved samples using weighting based on the conversion data array entry to obtain the respective pixel value in the second coordinate system.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are used to “check-in” and monitor individuals from an initial checkpoint of a facility to a final checkpoint of a facility. At the initial checkpoint, the systems and methods authenticate an identity of the individual, generate a biometric representation of the individual as an output, and associate the output to an object associated with the individual. The output can be machine-readable code, which can be encrypted or digitally signed. After this initial process, as the individual and the object associated with the individual travel through the facility, the individual's identity is re-authenticated one or more times either at discrete checkpoints or randomly throughout the facility. The object is also checked against the identity of the individual by using the output associate with the object to ensure the object should be with that individual.
