  • Patent number: 7536830
Abstract: An inner belt is received on an associated vehicle flange. A U-shaped gripping portion of the inner belt is formed by first and second legs dimensioned for receipt on opposite faces of the flange. Rigid spaced hooks extend from a body of the inner belt and form upturned cavities that engage with similar hook portions formed on an associated inner trim panel. An end datum feature constrains longitudinal movement between the inner belt and the inner trim panel, while cooperating horizontal leg portions of both the inner belt and inner trim panel restrain the components from relative vertical movement.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 8, 2006
Date of Patent: May 26, 2009
    Assignee: Cooper-Standard Automotive Inc.
Inventors: Patrick Clark, Greg Roush, Mike Heinze
  • Patent number: 7350849
Abstract: A one-piece retainer is preferably an injection molded that receives and retains a weatherseal therein. The retainer assembly includes first and second portions that are bonded together to form the one-piece retainer. Fasteners further aid in securing the portions together and also securing the assembly to the associated vehicle. An outer show surface portion overlies a door body side of the vehicle. The show surface covers a cavity that serves as a water management channel around the perimeter of the window opening.
