  • Publication number: 20090157426
Abstract: A method, apparatus, system and computer program product are provided for facilitating connection of source devices that are capable of generating data to one or more destination devices which may receive the generated data. The data generated by the source devices may be in different data formats and the source devices may be maintained and operated by different institutions and facilities. Similarly, the destination devices may be maintained and operated by different institutions and facilities. In this regard, an apparatus may be configured to receive the data generated by the source devices and convert the data to one or more codes which represent the results of the data generated by the source devices. The codes may be used by the apparatus to convert or translate the data into a format or template that is specific to an institution or facility that maintains or operates one of the destination devices.

  • Patent number: 7054488
Abstract: A method for determining transparency in image extraction creates a first mask bitmap by combining a first image and a second image, wherein the first image and the second image have the same size and are the same except for transparent areas. A second mask bitmap is created which displaces pixels of first RGB values in the first image to second RGB values. The first mask bitmap is applied to the second mask bitmap by performing an ‘OR’ operation on the first and second mask bitmaps. Pixels in the resulting bitmap of the ‘OR’ operation which have the first RGB values are transparent. Pixels in the resulting bitmap of the ‘OR’ operation, corresponding to the pixels in the first image that had the first RGB values, have the second RGB values. Pixels are identified in the resulting bitmap of said ‘OR’ operation which have said first RGB values as transparent.

  • Publication number: 20060096100
Abstract: A joint structure is ideally suited for use in the manufacture of assemblies and subassemblies in aluminum structures. More particularly, the alternative joint structures and methods of forming joint structures facilitate the assembly of a vehicle body-in-white. The friction welded joints of this invention provide assemblies in which lineals and sheet, cast, or extruded components are joined together.

  • Publication number: 20030142090
Abstract: A method for determining transparency of images in extraction comprises various steps, including set transparent areas in Image 1 to black; set transparent areas in Image 2 to white; to perform an “exclusive or” operation on Image 1 and Image 2: subtract 1 from the resulting bitmap of the “exclusive or” operation, wherein the resulting bitmap after the “subtraction” operaton is called first mask bitmap; fill a first temporary bitmap with pixels all set to (254, 254, 254); perform an “exclusive or” operation on the first temporary bitmap and the bitmap for Image 1; fill a second temporary bitmap with pixels all set to (0, 0, 0); divide the resulting bitmap of the “exclusive or” operation on the first temporary bitmap and the bitmap for Image 1 by the second temporary bitmap, wherein the resulting bitmap after the “division” operation is called second mask bitmap; perform an “or” operation on the second mask bitmap and the origi

  • Patent number: 6480880
Abstract: The claimed invention can be used to automatically determine what files are needed to optimally execute a computer program to a desired state. In one embodiment the invention automatically creates an optimized file containing the files that are necessary to reach the desired state of a computer program. One or more remainder files may also be created. A remainder file contains the files that may be used by the computer program after reaching the desired state of execution.

  • Patent number: 6009563
Abstract: A sports safety helmet includes two way radio communications and integral external lighting. The helmet is particularly well adapted for use in sailing, where head protection from swinging booms, heavy lines, and other components is desirable, and where unassisted voice communication can be difficult due to noise from wind, waves, and rigging of the boat. The present helmet is also of value in other activities where head protection is important, such as skiing, climbing, etc., and is of value in many occupations as well. The helmet is preferably configured to have smoothly rounded contours devoid of any protrusions, in order to preclude catching or snagging on rigging, tree branches, or other articles during use. The integrated lighting is of great assistance for night sailing, skiing, climbing, or other activities engaged in at night or periods of low lighting. A collar may also be provided, depending from the lower rear edge of the helmet, to protect the wearer from water spray.
