  • Publication number: 20240050203
Abstract: Methods for manufacturing remotely custom fit dental orthotics, where a wearer makes impressions of their upper and lower teeth and also makes a bite impression that determines the relationship of the upper teeth to the lower teeth, preferably in an orthopedically optimized position with respect to each other. The impressions and bite registration are sent by the wearer to a manufacturing facility in a different location. At the manufacturing facility, the impressions are used to make models of the wearer's upper and lower teeth. The models are mounted on an articulator, and the bite registration is used to position the mounted models in the orthopedically optimized position which is locked in to the articulator. The bite registration is removed and a dental orthotic customized to the wearer and the orthopedically optimized position is formed between the models. The custom orthotic is then sent to the wearer.

  • Patent number: 11759346
Abstract: A user-customizable orthopedic alignment device (OAD) that includes a formable mouthpiece which has an alignment gap that is aligned with the user's canine teeth when the device is placed in the user's mouth. The OAD has moldable material that cover the user's molars and may cover the front teeth. The alignment gap is provided to allow an alignment member to be positioned laterally between the user's canine teeth during molding of the moldable material. The moldable material may be positioned on a frame that includes living hinges that allow the frame and mouthpiece to flex and adjust to the specific spacing between a user's right and left molars. After the moldable material has been molded to the user's teeth, inserts can be positioned in the alignment gap in some embodiments to provide cushioning between the canine teeth when the OAD is used.

  • Patent number: 10675127
Abstract: A user-customizable orthopedic alignment device (OAD) that includes a formable, generally semicircular mouthpiece which has an alignment gap that is generally in alignment with the user's canine teeth when the device is placed in the user's mouth. The OAD has an overmold of moldable material having portions that cover the user's molars and front teeth. The alignment gap is provided between rear (right and left) portions and the front portion to allow an alignment member to be positioned laterally between the user's canine teeth during molding of the overmold. A frame is provided to stiffen the OAD between the front and read portions. After the overmold has been molded to the user's teeth, inserts can be positioned in the alignment gap to provide cushioning between the canine teeth when the OAD is used. The inserts may be molded after they are inserted into the overmold assembly.

  • Patent number: 10238477
Abstract: Systems and methods for systems and methods for improvement of a person's performance and well-being by determining and maintaining an orthopedically optimized position of the person's jaw. In one embodiment, TENS is applied to the patient's jaw muscles to relax and deprogram the muscles, the person's TMJs are evaluated and reduced, and neural shear in the patient's upper cervical spine is minimized by orthopedically aligning the patient's head and neck (CC complex), thereby causing the patient's jaw to move toward an orthopedically optimized position (CM complex). A bite registration of the upper and lower jaws is taken, with molars and premolars at least 2 millimeters apart, the front teeth not touching, and preferably a vertical index of 17-21 millimeters. Molds of the persons upper and lower teeth may be positioned using the bite registration, and an orthopedic alignment device (OAD) may be formed between the molds.
