  • Patent number: 8581129
Abstract: A pivot lever assembly includes an electrical contactor arrangement that provides electrical continuity from a source of electrical power through an electrical control switch provided on a movable portion of the pivot lever assembly to an electrically controlled accessory. The pivot lever assembly includes a base. A first electrical contactor is provided on the base. The pivot lever assembly also includes a rocker that is supported for pivoting movement relative to the base. A second electrical contactor is provided on the rocker. The first electrical contactor and the second electrical contactor slidably engage one another when the rocker is pivoted relative to the base so as to maintain electrical continuity therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20130257135
Abstract: An apparatus includes a dump box having an open end and a tailgate supported on the dump box for movement between a closed position, wherein the tailgate closes the open rear end of the dump box, and an opened position, wherein the tailgate is spaced away from the open end of the dump box. A cylinder assembly extends between the dump box and the tailgate. The cylinder assembly includes a cylinder and a piston that is able to move relative to the cylinder for selectively moving the tailgate between the closed and opened positions. The cylinder assembly has a cross-sectional shape that is non-circular.

  • Patent number: 7976105
Abstract: A mechanism raises and lowers a tailgate provided on a dump box of a dump truck, trailer, or similar vehicle. The dump box has an open end and is supported on the frame for movement between a lowered position for storing and transporting items and a raised position for dumping the items out of the dump box. A tailgate is supported on the bump box for movement between a closed position, wherein the tailgate closes the open rear end of the dump box, and an opened position, wherein the tailgate is spaced away from the open end of the dump box. A double cylinder assembly extends between the dump box and the tailgate for selectively moving the tailgate between the closed and opened positions.

  • Patent number: 7568666
Abstract: A stand quickly and reliably supports an article at a desired location relative to a floor or other support surface for convenient use. The stand includes a base portion that is adapted to engage a support surface. A post portion includes a lower member connected to the base portion, an intermediate member, and a first coupling that prevents axial and rotational movement of the lower member relative to the intermediate member. The post portion also includes an upper member and a second coupling that prevents axial and rotational movement of the intermediate member relative to the upper member. Lastly, the stand includes a platform portion that is adapted to support an article. The lower member, the intermediate member, and the upper member of the post portion are each hollow and provide a passageway that extends from an opening formed through the base portion to an opening formed through the platform portion.
