  • Patent number: 6804826
Abstract: A communication circuit carries at least one signal including synchronizing intervals by which output of the signal by first apparatus coupled to the communication circuit is to be synchronized. A communication method includes selecting and modulating at least a portion of the duration of at least some of the synchronizing intervals. A modulator is provided for selecting and modulating at least a portion of the duration of at least some of the synchronizing intervals. Another communication circuit carries at least a first signal including frequencies in at least a first frequency band. A method of determining whether the first signal is escaping from the circuit includes transporting along the circuit apparatus adapted for receiving the first signal, detecting whether a received signal includes frequencies in the first frequency band, and producing an indication that the received signal includes frequencies in the first frequency band.

  • Publication number: 20020019983
Abstract: An instrument for testing a CATV network includes an input port for receiving first information from the network, a computer coupled to the input port for processing the first information received from the network, a user interface permitting a user to create second information for communication over the network, and a serial port for coupling the second information to the network. The instrument also includes a signature pad permitting a user to enter handwritten communication for transmission over the network, and a port for coupling handwritten communication-related signals to the network. The instrument also includes an ethernet interface for coupling the second information to the network.

  • Patent number: 4308497
Abstract: A peak detector circuit to be used in conjunction with an RF tunable volt meter is disclosed which charges a capacitor to a voltage level proportional to the amplitude of an incoming signal and then provides an accurate output signal, for driving a meter, the value of this signal being proportional to the voltage on the capacitor. The accuracy of the meter indicator reading is virtually identical for a particular amplitude regardless of whether the incoming signal is modulated or unmodulated (CW).
