  • Patent number: 11293653
Abstract: A door for an air cleaner housing is disclosed. The door comprises a baseplate having a first side and a second side, a gasket attached to the first side of the baseplate, a backplate connected to the second side of the baseplate, and a front plate spaced apart from the backplate by spacers, wherein the baseplate, the backplate and the front plate are attached by a plurality of fasteners. Slots may be formed in the baseplate, and a magnet is positioned in each of the slots. The baseplate, the backplate, and the gasket dimensions may be adapted to fit within an opening in an air-cleaner housing. The magnets may be positioned to hold the door in position the housing opening. The gasket comprises a cellular urethane that seals the door to the housing to prevent air leaks.

  • Patent number: 10814030
Abstract: A hybrid full-spectrum air purification device employs a UV light source; ionization, both negative and positive or only negative ions; and, adsorbent VOC filters, zeolite, potassium permanganates, carbon, polymers, tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane, tromethamine, and/or the like, applied to carbon monolith structures. Room temperature bi-metallic nano-particle catalysts, such as supported noble metal based catalysts (e.g. platinum, palladium, gold, silver, etc.) with inert oxide in this case platinized tin oxide (Pt/SnOx) combined with, or without, non-noble metal oxides such as manganese dioxide (MnO2) and/or titanium dioxide (TiO2), and/or the like, may also be applied to the carbon monolith(s). The device is suitable for installation immediately above, or adjacent, a cooling coil with the air flow entering the germicidal (UV) area first, followed by the VOC catalyst filters and finally being exposed to the dual/single polarity ionization zone.

  • Patent number: 10767879
Abstract: An intelligent digital assistant device receives an indication of an installation status of a consumable component of an Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) component. The IAQ component configured to alter the quality of air entering, leaving, or circulating within a building via an HVAC system, wherein the installation status of the consumable component is determined by a component sensor coupled to the IAQ component and transmitted to the wireless user device via a wireless transmitter integrated in the IAQ component. The intelligent digital assistant device receives information regarding properties of the consumable component, wherein the properties of the consumable component are determined by the component sensor and transmitted to the intelligent digital assistant device via the wireless transmitter of the IAQ component. The intelligent digital assistant device monitors the properties of the consumable component, and notifies a user when the consumable component requires maintenance or replacement.

  • Patent number: 9593861
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling and monitoring Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) devices are described. In some embodiments, a system may include an IAQ component configured to alter the quality of the air entering, leaving, or circulating within a building, a sensor coupled to the IAQ component, the sensor configured to determine a status of the IAQ component, and a transmitter coupled to the sensor, the transmitter configured to transmit an indication of the status to a controller. In other embodiments, a method may include receiving, at a Heating, Ventilation, and/or Air Conditioning (HVAC) thermostat, data from a sensor coupled to an IAQ component configured to alter the quality of the air entering, leaving, or circulating within a building, and determining, by the HVAC thermostat, a status of the IAQ component based upon the data.

  • Patent number: 9205169
Abstract: A photocatalytic device includes a housing with inlet and outlet openings. Hydrated multi-metallic catalyst substrate(s) disposed within the housing support a hydroxyl radical reaction with water vapor and ultraviolet light from a source in the housing, resulting in hydro peroxides and hydroxyl ions. At least one ion generator disposed in the housing provides ions. A fan disposed within the housing causes air to enter the inlet opening, circulate through the catalyst substrate(s), and exit the outlet opening, carrying the ions. A power converter disposed in the housing is operatively coupled to a power connector adapted to accept a plurality of plugs or cords. Each plug or cord is configured to plug into a corresponding conventional outlet to supply a corresponding conventional alternating current voltage at conventional cycles to the power converter for powering the ultraviolet light source, ion generator(s) and fan.

  • Patent number: 9066988
Abstract: A photocatalytic device has an ultraviolet light source and a plurality of photocatalytic structures, such as hydrated quad-metallic catalyst surfaces. The photocatalytic device has curved reflectors that are positioned to reflect ultraviolet light against a face of the photocatalytic structures. The curved reflectors are shaped to minimize the distance traveled by the ultraviolet light between the light source and the photocatalytic structure. The curved reflector is further shaped to direct reflected ultraviolet against the surface of the photocatalytic structure in a perpendicular direction.
