  • Patent number: 7572402
Abstract: A method is provided for the punching of a bridge break and thereafter sealing the bridge break during the injection molding process of the lead frame. The bridge breaking tool is placed over the bridge that is to be broken. The collar presses down on the circuit and the punch presses down on the bridge with enough force to form the bridge break. Once the bridge break is formed the punch is retracted from the cavity of the template and molten polymer is injected to flow around the ends of the bridge break. The bridge breaking tool's hold down collars and retracted punch form a molding area for molten polymer to flow over the bridge break and the exposed circuit area. The bridge breaking tool is retracted after the bridge break is encased in the cured molten polymer and the cured molten polymer forms a lead frame structure.

  • Patent number: 6056908
Abstract: A method for forming an integrated solenoid circuit system for a motor vehicle transmission. The method includes the steps of providing a solenoid sensor for sensing vehicle transmission states, and a manifold for powering the solenoid sensor, fabricating an electronic circuit to selectively connect the manifold and the solenoid sensor in response to sensed vehicle transmission states, configuring the electronic circuit into a predetermined configuration and molding a housing over the electronic circuit to form a single electrically insulated system construction.

  • Patent number: 5823071
Abstract: An integrated solenoid circuit system for a motor vehicle transmission, and a method of forming the same. The system comprises a housing including a solenoid subhousing and a transmission range sensor (TRS) subhousing. The system also includes a solenoid sensor operatively located in the solenoid subhousing for sensing activation of transmission solenoids. The plurality of transmission sensors is operatively positioned in the transmission range sensor subhousing for communicating transmission states sensed by the solenoid sensor to the controller. A manifold is operatively mounted in the solenoid subhousing for energizing system components. A transmission sensor circuit operatively connects a plurality of transmission sensors to the manifold for selectively activating each of the plurality of transmission sensors in response to a sensed transmission state. The system integrates the transmission sensors, the manifold and the transmission sensor circuit into a single piece construction.
