Patent number: 11291406Abstract: A system for determining a set of at least one cardio-respiratory descriptor of an individual during sleep comprises a memory device having a first accelerometer for a thoracic position, a second accelerometer synchronized with the first and for an abdominal position, and an optional sensor (e.g., a photoplethysmographic sensor). The system also includes memory for recording accelerometer and optional sensor data; memory with a reference model; and a device for filtering accelerometer data and configured to extract low-, medium-, and high- frequency ranges. A computer is configured for determining, within the extracted frequency ranges, at least one characteristic representative of a cardio-respiratory and physiological state and the time of the extraction thereof; comparing the determined characteristic(s) with similar characteristics from the reference model; and deducing therefrom a set of at least one probable corresponding event the individual experienced during a predetermined period of time.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2018Date of Patent: April 5, 2022Assignee: Université Grenoble AlpesInventors: Damien Colas, Aurélien Bricout, Grégoire Gerard, Pierre-Yves Gumery

Publication number: 20210169378Abstract: A signal-processing method comprises storing, in memory, a first initial signal generated by a first set of at least one three-axis accelerometer positioned in a thoracic position of an individual. A second initial signal, generated by a second set of at least one three-axis accelerometer in an abdominal position of the individual, is also stored in the memory. The second initial signal is synchronised with the first initial signal. The data of the first initial signal is processed to compute a first final vector, representing thoracic forces experienced by the first set of at least one three-axis accelerometer. The data of the second initial signal is processed to compute a second final vector, representing abdominal forces experienced by the second set of at least one three-axis accelerometer.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2019Publication date: June 10, 2021Inventors: Grégoire Gerard, Pierre-Yves Gumery, Damien Colas, Aurélien Bricout

Patent number: 9405456Abstract: A computer implemented tactile user interface (TUI) and a method of manipulating objects with a virtual magnet are provided. The TUI includes a display comprising a touch-screen. The display is configured for displaying a set of graphic objects, each graphic object representing a respective one of a set of items, such as documents, e.g., text documents or images. A virtual magnet is caused to move on the display, in response to touching on the touch-screen, e.g., by dragging a finger or other implement across. The magnet is associated with a particular function command such that a subset of the graphic objects exhibits a response to the virtual magnet (e.g., is caused to move, relative to the virtual magnet or exhibits another visible response), each graphic object in the subset moving or otherwise responding as a function of an attribute of the underlying item represented by the graphic object.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2009Date of Patent: August 2, 2016Assignee: XEROX CORPORATIONInventors: Caroline Privault, Jacki O'Neill, Jean-Michel Renders, Victor Ciriza, Yves Hoppenot, Gregory Bauduin, Ana Fucs, Ye Deng, Grégoire Gerard, Mathieu Knibiehly

Patent number: 9208465Abstract: A system and method for visualizing performance metrics are disclosed. The system includes a data acquisition component which collects information related to a set of agents operating in a work environment, a performance metric computation component which computes, for one of the agents, values for a performance metric at each of a plurality of times within a selected time period, and a representation generator which generates a representation for display to the agent, the representation providing the agent with information on the agent's current value for the performance metric. A processor implements the data acquisition component, the performance metric computation component, and the representation generator.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2011Date of Patent: December 8, 2015Assignee: XEROX CorporationInventors: Maria Antonietta Grasso, Stefania Castellani, David S. Martin, Tommaso Colombino, Jutta K. Willamowski, Grégoire Gerard

Patent number: 8400661Abstract: A system and method for promoting environmental behavior by device users are provided. The method includes allocating “green” points to each of a plurality of users. A job request, such as a print job request, is received from one of the users. A cost in points is computed for executing the job request, based on a formula which is designed to promote environmental behavior by the user. The user's allocated points are reduced by the computed cost when the job is performed.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 2010Date of Patent: March 19, 2013Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventors: Maria Antonietta Grasso, Victor Ciriza, Jutta Katharina Willamowski, Yves Hoppenot, Grégoire Gerard, Mathieu Knibiehly

Publication number: 20120166472Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for developing a query. The system includes a display device for displaying elements, such as images, textures, color palettes, ad textual elements, which are selectable as query elements for forming a query. A physical space is provided on the display in which a physical object can be positioned. At least one physical object is positioned in the physical space, which is recognized by the system as having an identifier stored in memory to which a query can be linked. A sensor is provided for detecting a physical manipulation of the physical object in the physical space which represents absorbing a query element into a query. A query generator generates a query based on the absorbed query element. The query is thus associated in memory with the identifier for the recognized object. In this way, several physical objects can be manipulated on the display device, each one corresponding to a respective, single query.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2010Publication date: June 28, 2012Applicant: Xerox CorporationInventors: Yves Hoppenot, Tommaso Colombino, Luca Marchesotti, Gabriela Csurka, Grégoire Gerard
