  • Patent number: 11846049
Abstract: A braiding apparatus for forming braided tubing comprises a braiding wheel and a plurality of bobbins. The plurality of bobbins are configured to move circumferentially around the braiding wheel. Each bobbin includes a spool, a first pulley assembly, and a second pulley assembly. The spool is configured to hold a tow formed from a braiding material. The first pulley assembly is coupled to the spool at a first distance from the spool. The first pulley assembly is configured to facilitate passing the tow over a pulley of the first pulley assembly. The second pulley assembly is coupled to the spool at a second distance that is less than the first distance. The second pulley assembly is configured to facilitate receiving the tow from the first pulley assembly and passing the tow over a pulley of the second pulley assembly and towards a section of the braiding apparatus at which a plurality of tows come together to form the braided tubing.

  • Patent number: 9822469
Abstract: In the production of a tubular fiber arrangement as an intermediate product for a composite part, the local conditions are taken into account in an especially simple and reliable manner with respect to the geometry of the composite part and its load profile. When forming the composite part on a core, the fiber mass supplied during the formation of the tube is proportional to the local circumference of the composite part which results from the diameter. The advancement speed of the core remains substantially constant.

  • Patent number: 9518342
Abstract: A method for producing a tubular fiber arrangement of a fiber-reinforced composite part and a tubular fiber arrangement as an intermediate product for a composite part. • Publication number: 20160355956
Abstract: A radial braiding machine includes a bobbin gear through which stationary yarns and braiding yarns are fed, a braiding ring through which the stationary yarns and braiding yarns are guided, and at least one transport device for transporting a core to be over-braided. The braiding ring has a non-round internal cross-section when projected onto a yarn outlet plane spanned by the bobbin gear. A braiding ring, a flat braid and a method of producing the flat braid are also provided.

  • Patent number: 8114793
Abstract: Three-dimensional textile component structure made of high-tensile yarns, subject to loads in defined directions in use, comprises wound layers one above the other of yarn sheets (3, 4) made of the high-tensile yarns and at least one yarn sheet (2) extending along the structure, made of the high-tensile yarns with the yarns of each yarn sheet (2) fixed in position by a textile structure (5) made of intersecting yarn systems. Such textile component structures are made by a method wherein yarn sheets (2-4) are laid as layers at different angles one after the other around a preshaped core (1) to produce independent layers of parallel high-tensile yarns, with at least one yarn layer (2) being fixed by a textile structure (5) made of intersecting yarn systems, while the remaining yarn sheets (3, 4) are wound.
