  • Patent number: 7451526
Abstract: In an apparatus for consolidating a conveyable fibre web, for example of cotton, synthetic fibers or the like, there is provided, at the exit from a flat card, roller card or the like, a web funnel together with take-off rollers, the outlet region of the web funnel has a substantially rectangular cross-section, and an endlessly revolving consolidating device, for example comprising two rollers, is provided downstream of the web funnel. In order to improve the apparatus for consolidation, the consolidating device comprises at least two roller pairs arranged one behind the other, which are biased by a force and the speed of rotation of which can be controlled.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 15, 2005
Date of Patent: November 18, 2008
Assignee: Trutzschler GmbH & Co. KG
    Inventors: Günter Duda, Gregor Eschenbruch

  • Patent number: 6877188
Abstract: A method of strengthening a conveyable fiber lap in an endlessly circulating conveying device is provided. The method includes conveying the fiber lap using first and second converging rollers, each roller having an outer surface, at least the first roller being provided with profile elements on its outer surface, the profile elements being non-continuous in an axial direction of the first roller; subjecting the fiber lap to a pressure when the fiber lap passes through a gap between the first and second rollers; and strengthening the fiber lap by exerting the pressure by the converging rollers and the profile elements.

  • Patent number: 6550106
Abstract: A fiber sliver producing apparatus includes an arrangement for making a running fiber web and a web gathering device which has a plurality of walls defining an inner space through which the fiber web runs in an advancing direction. The walls are stationary during operation of the apparatus. The web gathering device has a web gathering portion causing the running fiber web to converge and a web densifying portion, situated downstream of the web gathering portion as viewed in the advancing direction, for forming a running sliver from the web. The web densifying portion has an outlet opening of cross-sectionally rectangular outline and an opening width which is at least five times greater than the opening height. Upon discharge through the outlet opening, the sliver passes through cooperating rolls of a calender roll pair defining a bight in which the outlet opening of the web gathering device is disposed.
