  • Patent number: 5544829
Abstract: A pallet transport system for a textile cheese winding machine includes a cop delivery and storage track for supplying cops to be rewound, an empty tube return track, and a plurality of transport tracks each extending through one winding head of the bobbin winder transversely between the supply and return tracks. The entrance region of each transverse transport track is closable by selectively operable blocking mechanism disposed in operation to permit empty pallets to enter the transverse transport track while pallets equipped with cops are shunted. In this manner, the transverse transport tracks serve as a storage device for empty pallets which provides the advantage that, at the completion of a batch, the time needed by the bobbin winder to properly end the batch is shortened, and hence the machine's efficiency is increased.

  • Patent number: 5301886
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for operating a textile winding machine to wind yarn packages with the capability to verify a reported yarn break situation and to respond accordingly in the event that a yarn break has not, in fact, occurred. A sensing device at a textile winding station senses the travel of a yarn therepast as the yarn is wound from a supply package onto a take-up package. In the event of a yarn break or movement of the yarn beyond the sensing range of the sensing device, the sensor reports the absence of yarn to a control unit. The control unit responds to the signal from the sensing device by stopping the yarn winding operation and implementing a yarn re-establishment operation.

  • Patent number: 5100073
Abstract: In an automatic textile winder, an origination indicia is associated with each spinning tube supplied to the winder, e.g., in the form of a label, marking, or the like, on or applied to each tube or to a peg-tray carrier therefor. A quality-control device is provided at each winding station to monitor a quality-related parameter of the yarn winding operation. Another device is provided at each winding station in operative association with the respective quality control device for cancelling the indicia of each spinning tube whose yarn satisfies a predetermined value for the quality-related parameter as determined by the quality-control device, but leaving uncancelled the indicia of any spinning tube whose yarn fails to satisfy such quality value. Each spinning tube discharged from the winding stations is delivered to a detection station for reading or otherwise detecting any indicia remaining thereon. In this manner, the origin of inferior or sub-quality yarn can be readily identified.

  • Patent number: 5074481
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for monitoring a yarn winding production process, the traversing amplitude and/or the traversing frequency are monitored by a cross-winding monitoring system, which supplies cross-winding signals over electrical lines to a control and information device, in which the signals are linked with set-point values and/or signals characterizing the winding operation. Conclusions are drawn from the linkage results as to a plurality of characteristics of the winding process, such as misfeeds, drum laps, bobbin laps, ribbon winding state, yarn tensioner function, yarn tension change, drum malfunction, cheese grading, type of cross-winding system and quality of the cheese.

  • Patent number: 5033623
Abstract: A memory chip for storing information relating to an individual textile package and a device for manipulating the package and a chip reading device to access the information stored on the memory chip are provided. The memory chip can be loaded with individual package information such as, for example, the time, date and machine location at which the package was produced and the information can preferably be extinguished from the memory chip for loading of the memory chip with individual information concerning another package. To this end, the memory chip is preferably removably secured to the textile material or the tube of the textile package for subsequent removal for reuse on another package. The manipulating device moves the package and the chip reading device relatively to one another so that the chip reading device enters a reception area of predetermined size and location relative to the memory chip in which it can read, extinguish or supplement the information stored on the memory chip.

  • Patent number: 4879475
Abstract: A device and method for temporarily maintaining a voltage level in a control circuit for auxiliary devices in a textile spinning machine, winding machine or the like wherein the control circuit is connected to an intermediate direct current circuit that is in series between a line voltage and the drive motors of the machine. The method includes reversibly supplying current from the intermediate circuit to the motors and inversely supplying current generated by the residual inertial energy of the motors to the intermediate circuit. The supplying of reversible current is controlled in response to a drop in line voltage to maintain the voltage level of the intermediate circuit and therefore of the control circuit supplying auxiliary devices. The controlling includes sensing a drop in line voltage and generating and transmitting control signals to reversibly supply current.

  • Patent number: 4828191
Abstract: A method for sorting cheeses on an automatic winding machine includes predetermining a set-point value ratio of yarn length to cheese diameter. An actual value ratio of yarn length to cheese diameter is automatically measured. The measured values are automatically compared with the set-point values. Cheeses for which the actual value ratio of yarn length to cheese diameter is within a predetermined range of the set-point value ratio are automatically selected as quality cheeses.

  • Patent number: 4804151
Abstract: Automatic winding of yarn on a take-up package of a textile winding machine is controlled with devices including a yarn severing device actuated when the winding is interrupted, a device for sensing the quality of winding of the package, and a processing device that is responsive to a batch change signal which corresponds to an indication of dissimilarity of characteristics between the take-up yarn and the supply yarn. Re-starting of the winding is prevented if the package does not have preset quality characteristics and/or if there is a dissimilarity between the take-up yarn and the supply yarn. Another condition for re-start is the detection by a yarn presence monitoring device that a joined yarn is present, indicating the correction of the yarn interruption after actuation of a yarn joining device.
