  • Publication number: 20090085387
Abstract: A device for adjusting the seat depth of a motor vehicle seat includes a base element to be arranged in a manner fixed on the seat framework, a supporting element which is mounted in a longitudinally movable manner on the base element and is intended for supporting a seat user and guide device by means of which the supporting element is guided movably on the base element along an adjustment direction. The guide device includes a first guide mechanism, in the vicinity of which the supporting element is supported on the base element and at which the supporting element and the base element interact with play in a direction perpendicular to the adjustment direction and to the supporting direction, and a second guide mechanism with which the supporting element is guided on the base element in an essentially play-free manner perpendicular to the adjustment direction and to the supporting direction.

  • Publication number: 20050126333
Abstract: A spindle or worm drive for adjustment devices in motor vehicles. The device is secured with a fixed spindle or a fixed toothed rack to the first of two parts which can be adjusted in relation to each other, and is provided with a gear mechanism which is connected to the second of the two parts which can be adjusted in relation to each other. The gear housing is free from backlash and is enclosed by at least one bearing shell such that it is pivotable about at least one axis. The bearing shell consisting of two bearing plates which fit into one another and which can be joined to each other after enclosure of the gear housing. The gear housing is made of plastic and is provided with a concave or convex housing part which is surrounded by a convex or concave bearing shell section made of a material which is suitable for receiving crash forces, especially a metal material.

  • Patent number: 5782533
Abstract: A vehicle seat constructed in accordance with principles of this invention comprises stopping means that serve to conduct forces introduced via a movable belt mounting point during a frontal impact directly to the side rail, without having to transmit the entire load via the adjusting mechanism. A vehicle seat includes a seat frame having a seat belt mounting point, and an upper rail that is connected to the seat frame by at least one adjusting lever and at least one compensating lever extending from the upper rail to the seat frame. The seat includes a height adjusting mechanism for adjusting the height of the seat frame. The height adjusting mechanism includes a drive shaft connected to an end of the adjusting lever, wherein rotation of the shaft effects vertical movement of the adjusting lever and height adjustment of the seat frame.
