  • Patent number: 8174356
Abstract: An access control system with at least one entrance lane (4) has two or more antenna coils (12 to 15) arranged in pairs mutually opposing each other. Each antenna coil pair (12, 13 or 14, 15) is actuated by a reading device (20) for reading out a transponder (22) carried by the user, the transponder (22) having a transponder coil (24) coupleable with the antenna coils (12 to 15). The two mutually opposing antenna coils (12, 13 or 14, 15) of a pair are actuated at the same time, but alternately either in an in-phase or antiphase operation mode. For reading out the transponder (22) carried by the user the one operation mode, with which the transponder (22) is detected, is maintained until the reading transaction is completed.

  • Patent number: 8138884
Abstract: An access control system has at least two antenna coils (12, 13 and 14, 15) arranged one behind the other at an entrance lane (4) and connected to a reading device (20), which with a capacitance (40, 41) form an oscillating circuit (30, 31). Here either the one oscillating circuit (30, 31) with the in entrance direction (5) first antenna coil (12, 13) or the other oscillating circuit with the second antenna coil (14, 15) is actuated by the reading device (20), in order to read out data for the purpose of access authorization from a transponder (22) which is carried by a user and has a transponder coil (24) coupleable with the antenna coils (12 to 15). The oscillating circuit (30, 31) not actuated by the reading device (20) is detuned or short-circuited.

  • Patent number: 7857213
Abstract: A system has a plurality of groups of service facilities, each facility having an access control device with a read/write device for a contactless data carrier. The read/write devices of each group are networked with a separate database provided for each group. The data carrier has an identification number and a transaction counter with a transaction number which is changed upon a change of application data stored thereon. The application data, the identification number and the transaction number are stored in the database of the group to which the user goes for access. Upon access to a service facility, only the identification number and the transaction number are read from the data carrier.

  • Patent number: 7845115
Abstract: An access control apparatus has a blocking device (1) that is actuated by an actuator, and an authentication reader (7), upon reading a valid access authorization the blocking device (1) moving into the release position. For detecting a wheel chair (15) and/or pram in the area of the blocking device (1) a sensor (13) is provided, which does not activate the actuator for moving the blocking device (1) from the release position into the blocking position until the wheel chair (15) or pram has left its detection area.

  • Patent number: 7817990
Abstract: A method of ordering location-specific services in which RFID or NFC interaction between an RFID or NFC-enabled portable device or a mobile telephone of a user, on the one hand, and a location and service-specific smartposter comprising at least one RFID or NFC label or tag or a location and service-specific RFID or NFC label affixed to an object such as a smartposter, on the other hand, is used to set up an activatable link to the portable device or mobile telephone. A connection to a server operated by the service provider is established following link activation. Location information relating to the RFID or NFC label is communicated to the service provider's server, the contents of the server page corresponding to the link depending on the location information transmitted by the RFID or NFC label. The user is then capable of ordering location-specific services after the connection has been set up.

  • Patent number: 7631806
Abstract: At an access control device (1) with a reading device (4) for data carriers (8), on which access authorization and identification details are stored, a camera (7) is envisaged that takes digitized photographs of the users of the access control device (1), which are then stored in a database (9) together with the identification details read from the data carrier (8) by the reading device (4). An official (15) operates a terminal with a screen (12) that communicates with the database (9), through which the identification details on the data carrier (8) are verified, and to which the stored photograph of the user of the data carrier (8), taken by the camera (7) during access to the access control device (1) by the user, is transmissible for visual comparison with the user being checked (16).

  • Publication number: 20090114721
Abstract: A system has a plurality of groups (A, B) of service facilities (1 to 4) at each of which an access control device (5 to 8) with a read/write device (13 to 16) for a contactless data carrier (20) is provided. The read/write devices (13 to 16) of each group (A, B) are networked with a database (17, 18). To reduce the read time for reading the data carrier (20), the application data (23) are stored on the data carrier (20). The data carrier (20) has an identification number (21) as well as a transaction counter (22) with a transaction number which is changed upon a change of the application data (23). The application data (23), the identification number (21) and the transaction number are stored in the database (17, 18) of the group (A, B) to which the user goes. Upon access to a service facility (1 to 4) of said group (A, B) only the identification number (21) and the transaction number are read out from the data carrier (20) by the read/write device (13 to 16) as long as the application data are unchanged.

  • Publication number: 20080263147
Abstract: A method for reserving a service from inside a vehicle (A) at one of several facilities providing such service. The vehicle (A) having a navigation apparatus (1) which is equipped for data communication with a reservation server (3). Each service-providing facility has a reading mechanism (11, 12). The navigation apparatus (1) is adapted to display the service-providing facilities within an area to which the vehicle (A) is traveling. Using the navigation apparatus (1), the user selects one of the displayed service-providing facilities and communicates a reservation for the desired service—together with user identification data—with reservation server (3) at the selected facility. Upon arrival at the selected facility, a reading mechanism (11, 12) reads the identification data and grants access to the desired service, if the user identification data agrees with the data previously communicated to the reservation server (3).

  • Patent number: 7404517
Abstract: A non-contact-type access authorization reading device on an access control apparatus (1) reads an access authorization stored in a data carrier (9) received by an object (ski 7) which the user carries near the ground. The reading device has an antenna (11) disposed in the ground area and is connected to an evaluation unit which releases the access (2) upon reading of a valid access authorization. To provide the data carrier (9) with an access authorization, a copy-over data carrier (12) is acquired which stores a coding authorization for an access authorization. A copy-over reading device reads the coding authorization on the copy-over data carrier (12), and a coding device contactlessly codes the access authorization on the access authorization data carrier (9), the coding authorization being deleted after coding.
