  • Patent number: 8459013
Abstract: A closure member for a urea tank used to provide urea to an exhaust treatment system of a vehicle comprises a closure member body defining respective urea inlet and outlet passages and coolant inlet and outlet passages therethrough. A valve carried by the closure member body, and a portion of the valve can be an integral one piece part of the closure member body, selectively blocks the flow coolant through the interior of the urea tank. When coolant flows into the tank, it is separated from urea in the tank by a recirculating conduit which returns the coolant from the coolant inlet passage to the coolant outlet passage. Coolant circulating within the tank heats urea therein. The coolant flow valve can comprise a solenoid controlled valve with an electrical connector carried by the coolant tank for making connections to wiring that provides power to the solenoid to control the valve.

  • Patent number: 8328243
Abstract: A conduit coupling includes first and second conduits, an annular adapter and a clamp. The first conduit has an annular flange on an outer surface adjacent to a first end. The adapter is coupled to the outer surface of the first conduit and has an annular first engagement surface positioned adjacent to the flange and an annular second engagement surface that is spherical and convex. The second conduit has a flared end with an inner surface and an outer surface. The inner surface includes an adapter engagement surface that is spherical and concave and engageable with the second engagement surface. The outer surface includes a clamp engagement surface and the clamp includes a flared end engagement surface that is engageable with the clamp engagement surface. The clamp is configured to urge the flared end, adapter and annular flange together.

  • Publication number: 20110101683
Abstract: An exhaust conduit decoupler for a vehicle having a chassis and a cab mounted to the chassis comprises a first conduit coupled to the chassis and a second conduit coupled to the cab. The first conduit comprises an inlet portion, a tapered transition portion, and an outlet portion having a smaller inner cross-sectional area than the inlet portion. The second conduit comprises an inlet section, a tapered transition section, and an outlet section such that the inlet section has a greater inner cross-sectional area than the outlet section. The outlet portion of the first conduit extends through an inlet opening of the second conduit, is positioned within the inlet section of the second conduit and is spaced entirely from the inlet section of the second conduit by a gap.

  • Patent number: 6153988
Abstract: An arrangement for operating a brake of a vehicle has a controllable operating electric motor and a conversion device for converting the rotational movement of the operating electric motor into a translational movement of one or several brake element(s) which are in an operative connection with the conversion device. At least one additional electric motor is provided which can be controlled separately of the operating electric motor and has at least one additional conversion device for converting the rotation of the at least one additional electric motor into a translational movement of the brake element(s) which is independent of the translational movement caused by the operating motor and its conversion device.

  • Patent number: 6142265
Abstract: An arrangement for operating a brake of a vehicle has at least one controllable electric motor and at least one conversion device for converting the rotational movement of the electric motor into a translational movement of one or several brake element(s) operatively connected with the conversion device. The conversion device has two sloped disks which are arranged coaxially with respect to the electric motor, and whose first sloped disk can be caused to carry out a rotating movement by way of a step-down gear driven by the electric motor and whose second sloped disk, by way of roller bodies arranged between the two sloped disks, is axially displaceable by a rotating movement of the first sloped disk.

  • Patent number: 6098762
Abstract: A brake actuator includes an electric motor, a conversion device for converting the rotational movement of the electric motor into a linear movement and a hydraulic transmission for transmitting the linear movement of the conversion device to an adjusting piston of a brake. The conversion device includes at least two adjusting elements which can be driven by the electric motor and by way of which the at least two hydraulic pistons of the hydraulic transmission can be operated independently of one another in a hydraulic chamber which can be selectively connected with a reservoir.
