  • Patent number: 6820881
Abstract: A brake assembly affixed to a skateboard. A brake drum is held to an inner surface of one of the wheels of the skateboard and has an outwardly facing braking surface. A brake pad is held between the underside of the board and the outwardly facing braking surface. A brake pedal extends through an opening in the skateboard. When the brake pedal is depressed, the brake pad moves downwardly and contacts the outwardly facing braking surface, thereby slowing the wheel to which the brake drum is affixed.
