  • Publication number: 20240088462
Abstract: A method for discharging end-of-life batteries prior to dismantling and recycling involves recovering residual stored electrical energy by draining the battery to a zero charge state, and reverse biasing the battery to bring the potential from a zero charge state of around 2.7 V to a zero or near zero energy state. The reverse bias inverts the normal usage polarity for inducing a reverse current flow, and continues based on formation of internal short circuits formed on the cathode current collector for rendering the battery with little to no energy storage for safe agitation and dismantling.

  • Patent number: 11888850
Abstract: A communal computing device, such as an interactive digital whiteboard, can become unlocked if a user is near the device. The communal computing device may use a sensor such as a camera to capture images of a person and obtain an identifier from a personal device such as a smartphone. A cloud-based provider that is trusted by both the communal computing device and the personal device may associate both the image and the identifier of the personal device with the same user identity. Obtaining the user identity from multiple, different sources provides a secure technique for the communal computing device to recognize a user without the user directly interacting with the communal computing device. If the sensor no longer detects the user or the personal device is no longer detected, then the communal computing device may log off the user. The personal device may be used to confirm log off.

  • Publication number: 20230401247
Abstract: A system and method for clause and clause cluster classification for structured document analysis, interpretation, annotation, versioning and construction. The system and method can analyse one or more structured documents and parse the documents by clause, and assign each clause a clause category and clause cluster category. The clauses of similar structured documents can then be compared and documents can be flagged for variance in clause text, clause content, and the presence or absence of clauses in expected categories for the document type. By organizing clauses and clause language in a digital platform, the present system is capable of rapid document analysis and presentation of like clauses and related clause and clause cluster information for expediting document drafting, version tracking, and document analysis.

  • Patent number: 11841936
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include systems and methods for generating and managing user authentication rules of a computing device. In an example, a computing device may include a memory storing instructions and a processor communicatively coupled with the memory and configured to execute the instructions. The processor may determine a state of the computing device, wherein the state of the computing device is one of a locked state or an unlocked state. The processor may determine a user authentication rule corresponding to the state of the computing device. The processor may also identify whether a combination of signals associated with the user authentication rule of the computing device are received by the computing device. The processor may also change or maintain the state of the computing device based on the combination of signals being received.

  • Publication number: 20230325302
Abstract: In an embodiment, a system is configured to replay and/or reconstruct execution events and system states in real time or substantially in real time starting from the point when execution of a target program has stopped to the point when the user desires to step through the target program's execution in order to debug the software. In an embodiment, a system is configured to efficiently collect trace data that is sufficient to reconstruct the state of a computer system at any point of time from the start of execution to the time execution was stopped. Efficient and effective debugging of the software can be performed using embodiments of the disclosed methods, systems, and devices.

  • Publication number: 20230229767
Abstract: Systems and methods for validating online activities through proof-of-work techniques are provided. In one example, a validating computing system receives a request for a proof-of-work instruction from a client device that has submitted an online activity request to an online server system. The validating computing system generates and transmits a proof-of-work instruction for solving a problem to the client device. The validating computing system further receives a response to the proof-of-work instruction from the client device. The validating computing system generates a validity decision based on whether the client device correctly solved the problem, and transmits, to the online server system, the validity decision for use in granting the online activity request to the online server system.

  • Publication number: 20230110220
Abstract: A network-accessible service provides an enterprise with a view of identity and data activity in the enterprise's cloud accounts. The service enables distinct cloud provider management models to be normalized with centralized analytics and views across large numbers of cloud accounts. Using a domain-specific query language, the system enables rapid interrogation of a complete and centralized data model of all data and identity relationships. The data model also supports a cloud “least privilege and access” framework. Least privilege is a set of minimum permissions that are associated to a given identity; least access is a minimal set of persons that need to have access to given piece data. The framework maps an identity to one or more actions collected in cloud audit logs, and dynamically-build a compete view of an identity's effective permissions. The resulting least privilege and access policies are then applied natively to a given cloud environment to manage access.

  • Patent number: 11539609
Abstract: A computer implemented method and apparatus for reporting power down events in mesh nodes without a backup energy storage device. The method comprises reporting power down events in mesh nodes without a backup energy storage device comprising: listening, by a powered node in a network, for a heartbeat of a neighboring node, wherein the neighboring node does not have a backup energy storage device; pinging the neighboring node when a heartbeat is not heard within a predefined time period; and sending, by the powered node, a message toward a head end server indicating a power down event of the neighboring node.

  • Patent number: 11502573
Abstract: A motor assembly for powering a fluid blower includes a stator, a rotor rotatable relative to the stator about an axis of rotation, and an inner shell. The inner shell includes axially opposite first and second shell ends and encloses, at least in part, the stator and the rotor. An outer housing at least partly surrounds the inner shell such that an axially extending fluid channel is defined between the inner shell and the outer housing. A motor controller is positioned within the outer housing and is configured to control at least one operational parameter of the motor assembly. Furthermore, the motor assembly includes a flow-directing endshield located within the outer housing and adjacent the first shell end. The rotor is supported, at least in part, by the flow-directing endshield. The flow-directing endshield is fluidly interposed between the fluid channel and motor controller and is configured to direct a fluid flow between the fluid channel and the motor controller.

  • Patent number: 11499802
Abstract: This technology relates materials that are stab, spike and ballistic resistant and to stab, spike and ballistic resistant composite articles incorporating uniaxially oriented, non-woven fabrics. A fabric layer having a non-uniform areal density is formed having thick areas and thin areas, the thick areas having a greater filament/tape concentration compared to the thin areas. In said thick areas, agglomerated tapes/filaments will protrude from the fabric layer surface. Additional layers are then adjoined with the non-uniform layer to form a panel that has stab, spike and ballistic resistance, with protrusions at least partially spacing the additional layers from full, direct contact with the surface of the non-uniform fabric layer to thereby enhance flexibility and stab, spike and ballistic resistance of the whole.
