  • Patent number: 10111347
Abstract: In an aspect, an enclosure member for a circuit board includes first, second, third, fourth and fifth walls that define an interior. The first and second walls face each other. The third and fourth walls face each other. The fifth wall faces an opening. The first and second support members face the second wall. The second support member is spaced longitudinally from the first support member. The first and second walls are spaced apart by a distance that increases towards the opening. Any surfaces in the interior that at least partially face the second wall have a distance from the second wall that does not decrease towards the opening. The interior is free of surfaces that face the fifth wall and are perpendicular to the second wall thereby preventing die lock during molding, while providing the enclosure member with first and second support members that are spaced longitudinally.

  • Patent number: 8033055
Abstract: A guide rail assembly for moving a closure panel of a motor vehicle between an open position and a closed position includes a guide rail fixedly secured to the motor vehicle. A slide mechanism slidably engages the guide rail. A rod has one end coupled to the slide mechanism and an opposing end coupled to the closure panel to move the closure panel as the slide mechanism slides along the guide rail. A drive is fixedly secured to the guide rail for selectively driving the slide mechanism along the guide rail. A clasp is operatively secured to the slide mechanism for selectively coupling the drive to the slide mechanism such that the drive moves the slide mechanism along the guide rail to move the closure panel between the open and closed positions when the slide mechanism is coupled with the drive.

  • Patent number: 7261334
Abstract: A method as disclosed for operating a motor bidirectionally to cinch and release a closure panel of a motor vehicle. The motor is operatively connected to a pawl, ratchet and spring of a latch for the closure panel. The method includes the step of driving the motor in a cinching direction to rotate the ratchet to cinch the closure panel in the closed position. The motor is then returned to a park position by driving the motor in a park direction opposite to the cinching direction. Power is applied to the motor to drive the motor in a release direction to drive the motor past the park position with respect to the cinching direction. In doing so, the motor contracts the spring as it moves in the release direction. Power is then removed from the motor allowing the spring to force the motor to return to the park position as the spring returns to its steady state position.

  • Patent number: 6516929
Abstract: A self-releasing clutch assembly for locking a vehicle door lock. The clutch assembly (11) includes a servo-actuated input drive and a cinching output drive. A gear shaped first actuator (42) is mounted to the input drive. A cylindrical second actuator (44) is mounted to the output drive and is moveable relative to the first actuator. Four pairs of rollers (50) are interdisposed between the first and second actuators and moveable between a disengaged position and an engaged position. With the disengaged position, the rollers rest against the first actuator and allowing the second actuator to rotate relative thereto. With the engaged position, the rollers interlock the first and second actuators for relative concurrent movement. The clutch assembly is characterized by the first actuator including four driving surfaces (43) and the second actuator including four corresponding abutments (48).

  • Patent number: 6398271
Abstract: A control assembly for releasing a latch has a base plate (26) for mounting components of the control assembly. A pivotally mounted (28) input lever is movable between a ready position and a release position. The input lever (28) connects to a release handle (22). A pivotally mounted output lever (30) connects to a latch (14, 16) and transmits a releasing force. A pivotally mounted locking lever (34) is rotatable between a locked position and an unlocked position. A link (98) slidably engages the output lever (30) and pivotally engages the locking lever (34). When the locking lever (34) moves between the locked and unlocked positions, the link (98) responsively decouples and couples the input lever (28) and the output lever (30) to allow independent and dependent rotation thereof, respectively, selectively transferring the releasing force from the release handle (22) to the latch (14, 16).

  • Patent number: 6237737
Abstract: The present application discloses a power actuator that has a motor having a rotatable motor output member and a clutch assembly. A stamped, cup-shape ferromagnetic coil casing has a generally radially extending base wall and an annular side wall extending generally axially from the base wall. An annular ferromagnetic flux intensifying washer is positioned adjacent to the base wall of the coil casing. An annular coil of electroconductive material is disposed within the casing with the side wall extending in surrounding relation with respect to the coil such that the field generated by the coil flows generally radially through the base wall and generally axially through said side wall. A ferromagnetic armature is in sliding relation with the annular coil and movable between an engaged position and a disengaged position.

  • Patent number: 6032760
Abstract: An actuator for power door locks having a bi-directional spring holder assembly. The assembly has a substantially cylindrical housing having a projection formed on a rim of its cylindrical wall. The projection is provided with first and second abutments facing in opposite directions along the circumference of the rim. A spring is mounted around a shaft which passes through a longitudinal axis of the housing. A first, internal spring end is engaged to the shaft while a second, external spring end projects radially outward of the cylindrical wall. The assembly also includes a spring cover provided with a cover abutment which similarly projects radially outward of the cylindrical wall. When the holder assembly is assembled, the spring is coiled and the cover abutment pushes against the projection's first abutment while the external spring end pushes against the second abutment.
