Abstract: A battery box for a wearable computing device is disclosed. The battery box is comprised of a cover, battery, a structural housing sized to hold the battery, and a polymer rim. The battery box is enveloped in a thermoplastic elastomer molecularly bonded to the polymer rim. The polymer rim, thermoplastic elastomer, and cover of the battery box cooperatively resist fluid ingress into the battery box.

Abstract: Examples of wearable electronic devices are disclosed. For example, one disclosed embodiment provides a wearable electronic device comprising a band and a touch display module coupled to the band. The touch display module comprises a glass display cover incorporated in a molded polymer outer shell as an insert, and the molded polymer outer shell comprises one or more curved surfaces. The touch display module also comprises a touch sensor laminated to a backside of the glass display cover, and a display laminated to a backside of the touch sensor.

Abstract: An optical pulse-rate sensor includes a fixture, a light emitter, a light sensor, and a light stop. The fixture has a rim configured to contact a skin surface and enclose an area of the surface. The light emitter and light sensor are each coupled to the fixture and positioned opposite the area. The light stop is coupled to the fixture and positioned between the light emitter and the light sensor to shield the light sensor from direct illumination by the light source.

Abstract: A system and method for metering the use of network-accessible computer resources by multiple users, each user being associated with two or more tenant client computing device connected to a multi-tenant system via a network. The multi-tenant system includes a load balancer and access control device, a server computing device, and a consolidated user store. Requests to use resources of the multi-tenant system are generated by one of the tenant client computing devices and are received by the load balancer and access control device. In response to such requests, the system executes usage measurement initiation instructions, processes usage measurement computation instructions and records usage measurement data, periodically detects recordation of the usage measurement data in said local memory cache, and aggregates said usage measurement data in said consolidated user store.

Abstract: The invention generally relates to a novel method of sorting seed by providing a first seed population with a fluorescent indicator and a second seed population visually identical to the first seed population under standard operating conditions. The seed populations are combined to provide a combined seed population. A lamp having an output corresponding to the activation wavelength of the fluorescent indicator and a color sorting system are paired to count or separate the seed populations, as desired.
