    Abstract: An electronic antiskid brake assembly with a portable power source that can retrofit onto a working manual brake system to provide antiskid capabilities without effecting the manual brake system's normal operation. The antiskid system can be applied anywhere on a brake linkage. When a force is applied to a brake pad, an electronic controller utilizes detects a skidding event, and then automatically powers on an actuator. The actuator moves a brake linkage to create a pulse mode on the brake linkage. The pulse mode modulates the force that is applied to the brake pad. A one way cylinder can be included with a manual hydraulic brake system to provide a mechanical means for generating pulse mode on the brake linkage. The power source can move with the brake linkage so that the actuator pulses the brake linkage a small amount, while the brake linkage applies full braking.

An electric motor drives the actuator assembly wherein a manually applied force to the manual mechanical linkage shaft is modulated or pulsed. A lock and release assembly is configured for engaging and disengaging the actuator assembly to and from the manual mechanical linkage shaft. Means actuates the lock and release assembly to engage the actuator assembly to the manual mechanical linkage shaft, and disengage the actuator assembly from the manual mechanical linkage shaft.

    Abstract: A form, fill, seal and separate packaging machine for reclosable containers is accomplished by a plurality of stations disposed along a path of travel of a thermoplastic web including a pair of mated, resealable closure strips present on the base web. The machine is intermittent in its operation, with movement of the web through the machine controlled so that the various steps of forming, filling, sealing and separating the reclosable containers are performed during periodic stops of the machine. The machine is further characterized by its use of two pairs of web belts to move the web through the machine. A first pair of web belts initially receive the folded web stock and partially form and completely fill the containers. The second pair of web belts overlap with the downstream end of the first pair of belts, but are disposed lower than the first belts.
