  • Patent number: 9718062
Abstract: A crusher is provided having improved wear resistance and crushing capacity. Particularly, the crusher provides an improved mechanism for adjusting the closed side setting by acting on an adjustable jaw, rather than the moveable jaw. The crusher includes a moveable jaw, an adjustable jaw, and a frame that supports the adjustable jaw and the moveable jaw such that the adjustable jaw and the moveable jaw define a crushing chamber having an upper opening for receiving a material to be crushed and a lower opening for expelling crushed material from the chamber after crushing. The crusher also includes a drive mechanism coupled to the moveable jaw for directing reciprocating motion of the moveable jaw and an adjustment mechanism coupled to the adjustable jaw for altering an angle of the adjustable jaw and, thereby, altering a closed side setting of the crushing chamber.

  • Patent number: 6149086
Abstract: An improved vertical shaft impact crusher, and in particular a crusher having a shoe assembly attached to a rotatable table assembly, the shoe assembly comprising a bracket, a shoe, and mounting bolts for removably attaching the shoe to the bracket. The shoe has a contact surface which engages a support surface of the bracket to reduce shear forces in the mounting bolts during rotation of the table assembly. The crusher also has a liner for protecting an outside face of the bracket. The liner has spacers located on a mounting surface which create a gap between the liner and the bracket, thereby reducing a prying action caused by uneven deflections in the mounting bracket during rotation of the table assembly.

  • Patent number: 6089481
Abstract: An apparatus for selectively relieving the load on the adjusting rods of a horizontal shaft impact crusher is disclosed. The apparatus includes a linear actuator mounted to the exterior of the crusher frame. It also includes a bridge having a bearing section disposed adjacent the linear actuator. The bridge is secured to the adjusting rods such that, energizing the linear actuator applies a force to the bearing section of the bridge to thereby at least partially relieve the load on the adjusting rods. The bridge is sized such that, when the linear actuator is in the released state, the bridge does not add to the height of the crusher.

  • Patent number: 6070819
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for controlling the movement of the adjusting rods of a horizontal shaft impact crusher when the crusher is opened for service or the like. The disclosed apparatus includes a guide mounted to the crusher and defining a cavity. The cavity receives an adjusting rod and is dimensioned to force the adjusting rod to pivot in a predetermined direction when the crusher is opened.

  • Patent number: 6070820
Abstract: On a vertical shaft impact crusher, a table assembly having a reinforcing ring is disclosed. The vertical shaft impact crusher for crushing aggregate material includes a frame, with the table assembly being mountable to the frame for rotation about a vertical axis. The crusher includes a housing defining an impact surface spaced about an interior of the housing and surrounding the table assembly. The table assembly comprises a top surface, a bottom surface, and a peripheral edge. The top surface includes a central portion defining an aggregate landing surface, with the central portion being adapted to permit outward migration of the aggregate material in response to rotation of the table assembly. A plurality of shoe assemblies are mounted to the top surface adjacent to and spaced along the peripheral edge, with each shoe assembly being adapted to cause the outwardly migrating aggregate material to be thrown against the housing impact surface in response to rotation of the table assembly.
