  • Patent number: 8460894
Abstract: The current disclosure provide a novel human calcium sensing receptor named CaR2 and the nucleotide sequence that encodes the receptor. The disclosure further provides antibodies specific for CaR2. Also disclosed are methods of identifying modulators of the receptor and methods of using the identified modulators to treat calcium receptor mediated conditions.

  • Patent number: 6843774
Abstract: This invention features a method of determining whether an individual has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder by sampling the peripheral skin temperature of an individual in an inactive state and manipulating the resulting temperature data to produce a value which is indicative of whether or not the individual has ADHD.

  • Publication number: 20030120172
Abstract: A method of determining whether an individual has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, comprising: sampling the peripheral skin temperature of an individual during a pre-determined time interval when the subject is in an inactive state to provide sampled peripheral skin temperature data; dividing the data into a series of windows of equal time intervals across the pre-determined time interval; for each window applying a fast Fourier Transform algorithm (FFT) to produce a data set of FFT magnitudes and determining a range of FFT magnitude variation, which is the difference between the FFT magnitude at a frequency fmax and the FFT magnitude at the minimum frequency; aggregating the magnitude ranges for one of or less than all of the windows to produce an aggregate magnitude range value which is indicative of whether or not the individual has ADHD; wherein prior to sampling, if one or more of the following noises are present it is eliminated through manual or automatic means: self diversion, external stimul

  • Patent number: 5367355
Abstract: A photographic camera including a plurality of focal length settings, a chargeable flash device, and a mechanism for indicating an exposure ready condition at a predetermined state of charge, is characterized by means responsive to the focal length setting for adjusting the predetermined state of charge at which the ready condition is indicated. The state of charge is more complete at longer focal lengths to ensure sufficient illumination and is less complete at shorter focal lengths to reduce wait time. According to one feature of the invention, the camera includes contact elements having a plurality of discrete positions, one each representing a different focal length, and the predetermined state of charge is adjusted depending on the position of the contact elements. The flash ready condition may be signaled by a number of different mechanisms including, for example, flash ready lights, the extinguishment of exposure wait lights, and the release of actuation interlocks.

  • Patent number: 4999664
Abstract: In a camera for daylight and underwater photography, an exposure control aparatus is adjusted automatically to change an exposure parameter as a function of increased water pressure. Preferably, a pressure sensitive member is mechanically connected to a multi-blade diaphragm to continuously increase the size of a lens opening as the camera is further submerged underwater.
