  • Patent number: 10959645
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods of locating a patent within a facility. In one example, the system includes a beacon and a sensor. The beacon is positioned in a location of the facility. The beacon includes an infrared emitter and a processor. The processor is in communication with the infrared emitter. The processor is configured to instruct the infrared emitter to periodically emit an infrared emission. The processor modulates the infrared emission with a unique identification of the beacon that corresponds to the location of the beacon. The sensor is worn by the sensor wearer. The sensor includes an infrared receiver and a processor. The processor is in communication with the infrared received. The infrared receiver is configured to demodulate the received infrared emission to identify the unique identification of the beacon.

  • Patent number: 4785799
Abstract: Cyclic total parenteral nutrition is safely administered by tapering the infusion rate over a substantial period of time at the beginning and end of the infusion cycle. An infusion pump is disclosed which automatically calculates and performs a cycle profile having an appropriate steady-state rate and appropriate tapers in accordance with pre-established criteria when total volume and total infusion time per cycle are entered. The pump has a sleep mode for energy conservation without loss of memory when predetermined periods of inactivity occur.
