  • Patent number: 9271759
Abstract: A locking pedicle screw assembly has been designed which avoids misalignment and locks into place once the cap is fully threaded into the tulip, avoiding over tightening or stripping of the threads. The locking cap includes a retaining or locking ring, positioned either at the bottom of the cap so that it locks into a groove at the bottom of the threads in the tulip or at the top of the threads in the cap, locking into a groove at the top of the tulip when the cap is fully seated. In one embodiment, an audible signal is generated when the cap locks. In another embodiment, the cap is secured to a swiveling saddle that locks the rod into place as the screw cap is tightening, but does not interfere with the locking mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20150148809
Abstract: Corpectomy calipers are provided that are capable of measuring both the distance and the angle between two bodies, in particular between two vertebral bodies in an individual. The calipers provided are capable of providing reliable measurements without the need for repeated measurements. The calipers described herein offer a simple and inexpensive solution. Methods of using the calipers are provided, for example, in determining the size and spacing of a void in a corpectomy or intervertebral fusion procedure.

  • Patent number: 8782633
Abstract: A method, a system and a computer program product for upgrading firmware is disclosed. In one embodiment data storage is managed in a data storage system comprising a first enclosure having a first storage processor and a first power supply. A firmware upgrade is saved in the first storage processor. The firmware upgrade in the first storage processor and firmware in the first power supply are compared. The firmware upgrade is downloaded to the first power supply in response to the comparison determining a difference between the firmware upgrade in the first storage processor and the firmware in the first power supply. The firmware is upgraded in the first power supply with the firmware upgrade.
