  • Publication number: 20240108493
Abstract: A nutrient recycling device is provided that is configured to collect digestive contents from a first opening of a gastrointestinal (GI) tract and recycle and/or return the digestive contents to a second location in a patient's gastrointestinal tract. The device and associated method may find application in patients with a number of complaints, such as short bowel syndrome and/or prior to stoma reversal surgery. The device comprises a bag adapted to receive the digestive contents from a first GI opening, and a pump incorporated with the bag adapted to pump the digestive contents to a second GI location. The pump includes an inlet in fluid communication with the interior of the bag, and an outlet connected to an outlet conduit adapted to provide a flow pathway for the digestive content to flow from the pump to second GI location.

  • Patent number: 11712566
Abstract: A method including transcutaneously measuring motility patterns, in the colon of a recipient of an implantable neuromodulator, responsive to an electrical stimulus delivered by the implantable neuromodulator, and programming the implantable neuromodulator responsive to the measured motility patterns, wherein the method comprises adjusting at least one parameter of the implantable neuromodulator that defines the electrical stimulus that the implantable neuromodulator is configured to deliver to the recipient.

  • Publication number: 20210369492
Abstract: A device for connecting and transferring contents between a surgically created first orifice and a surgically created second orifice is provided. The device comprises a hollow body member and first and second tubular legs depending from the hollow body, and being adapted for insertion into the first and second surgically created orifices respectively. The device further comprises a cap for closing the hollow body and completing a sealed pathway between the tubular legs for passively conveying contents between the first and second surgically created orifices. Sealing features of the device are provided that in combination operate to keep the contents away from unwanted skin areas and/or provide an easy-to-use device.

  • Publication number: 20210153734
Abstract: A device for anorectal and/or gynaecological procedures is provided in order to improve surgical access and visual field. The device has a hollow elongate body, and an opening at the proximal end, defining an open working channel in the hollow body, and a window aperture for providing access to surrounding tissue. In addition, one or more wings are dependent from the body to aid manipulation of the device. The device further includes an illumination device and a suction passageway located within the body wherein the illumination device forms at least part of a perimeter wall of the suction passageway.
